Howdy,

I think I have figured it out but just want some reassurance :o

The general assumption seems to be that our bodies will O mid way between AFs so that's why they say you should wait until your next AF, because it's approx 10 - 14 days post o, is that right?

So what happens if you O 2 days after your AF finishes - do you still have to wait until just before your AF or are you likely to get a positive test 10 days post o, despite it being much more before AF is due?

I'm not 100% certain, but from what I know it hasn't got to do when your period is next due it is days past ovulation, so even if you ovulated 2 days after your period, your positive result COULD be seen 10dpo, but remember, a lot of people don't get a positive until after AF is due.

They suggest waiting 10 - 14 days (minimum) after ovulation to test and yes for most people that's when AF is expected.

Why do you think you ovulated so early in the cycle? Do you have short cycles sometimes? It can happen, but it unusual to ovulate so early in the cycle, so it raises the possibility that if the method you are using isn't 100% accurate you might still be fertile after you think you're not.

I have always ovulated within a week of my AF finishing... and since having my son in March this year it is usually within 3 days :) No idea why, I'm just lucky I guess.

We're not trying to fall pregnant but not not trying either... I've had two faint positives in the last two months but then had heavy AF's so obviously they weren't meant to be. If it happens then I'm happy but if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be.
