I know I'm ahead of myself here, but with little babes to look after sometimes we need to be!

I'm looking for creative ideas for a father's day gift for DH in September. I want to give him something a bit personal not the usual standard FD gifts.

Any ideas, has anyone given a gift in the past that was special and a bit different?

Last year I bought matching Bonds Navy T-shirts in Best and less (1 was size 1 for DS, the other is size XL for DH  )

I then took them to an embroidery place and had them put 'Ryan' on the little one and 'Ryan's Daddy' on the big one. They wore them all day, very cute.

I gave DH a son for fathers day lol. DS1 was born on fathers day in the UK.

I don't remember what we got for DH, but last year we gave our fathers mugs with the boys picture printed on them. You can also get mouse pads, jigsaw puzzles and other things i think.

Don't use the guy on ebay though, his stuff sucks!

I have purchased a digital scrapbooking kit that all you do is add photos behind the page....print them off (or get them printed) make up into a little mini album and done!!!!!!

Super easy and cheap I reckon, oh and very personal. Love it.....

That is the link to the kit I purchased for it.

Good luck.

My Dad received the most awesome 40th birthday present ... my aunty put a picture of him in the middle of this A4 frame and then she researched all the men celebrities that she thought were worth it that were 40 as well and then added all their pics around my Dad and then put the words 'You are in good company' so you could do the same but put likeable celebrity fathers instead !!! :) It looks so special, especially with them being centre stage compared to the more revered celebrities !!!

jessgray these can look really good, but can be pricey as you can get canvases that are UV protected so they do't fade, different thicknessess and grades of canvas etc etc but defo look into it.

FD is the first sunday in sept isn't it?

Last year I made my DH a shirt with My DS's photo on it. It was cheap and easy and original for a first Fathers Day. I also brought him a subscription to street Machine. :)

Three years ago, for father's day I got my husband the twinkle toes frame where they put a golden sculpture (sp?) of both hands and feet and a photo. Sorry it's hard for me to describe but i think you'll know what I mean. It was the best present I bought. Pricey when you're not working but i paid it off in instalments. It brought tears to my hubby's eyes and that's hard to do.

i just thought of another way to make a gift special you could let bub/toddler help decorate wrapping paper :) all you need is some butcher's paper and some paint. i think hand prints or foot prints on wrapping paper would look nice :)
