I can't help you there, but I just wanted to check that you've reported these side effects to your GP? It's really important, even though they're not "life threatening" side effects. Something like 90% of adverse reactions aren't reported, so the pharmaceutical companies can't fix what they don't know about, IYKWIM.

Hope your little one feels better soon, and I hope you feel better soon too :hugs: it's hard being a mumma sometimes.

Hi Belinda :)

My DS is having his 12 month immuni soon so I've asked around what to expect. Allyoo told me that babies who have side effects from the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps and rubella) usually have egg intolerances. Apparently egg is part of the vaccine. Is yur bub in any way allergic to eggs?

Anyway, queenie is right. You must inform your GP about this. A rash after a shot is quite unusual. Usual side effects are loss of appetite for about 12 hours and possibly a low fever. Nothing panadol can't fix. So, might be good to see your GP again.

Hope I was able to help. :fingerscrossed: your bub feels better soon. :hugs:

hi yes we have reported it been to emergency twice and have seen to dr twice as well.
about egg? i dont eat eggs much because i dont like them so just dont think to give egg to DD she has had tiny bits out of fried rice but not a lot. how much egg do you need to give b4 you know that they are allergic. she has had cake and that sort of thing with egg in it with no probs

Good luck with your dd, and dont forget to tell your gp about it :)

My DS1 had properly diagnosed egg allergy so we had his immunisations at the hospital as a precaution, he had no adverse reaction to the immunisation. Hope your DD gets better soon :hugs:

The amount of egg is meant to be minimal in the injection (so I was told) and considering your daughter has eaten egg before albeit a small amount I would look at other causes for the reaction too. But I am sure your GP could follow egg allergy through if you wanted them to.

Just a thought you mentioned that you all have the cold symptons, maybe you have all picked up something else around the immunisation time. Making DD reaction worse. Hope you get some answers and a happier DD.

Ok yes some have a reaction because of the egg used in the vax but as your lo has already had egg products with no dramas i would highly doubt its anything to do with this plus it usually presents itself within 24hrs.
Now as for the rash & cold/flu like symptoms this is quite common after having the vax as sometimes it brings on the actual measles or the likes. This is not contagious & should be gone in no time at all. You should have been advised this by your g.p ... I hate when they dont do this ! As long as your DD doesnt become violently ill or has a high temp etc she will be fine just use panadol as needed, a cold face washer on the wound site if it becomes warm or calamine lotion on the rash. Of course it at any time you are worried take her straight to the doctors or hospital.
As Queenie said i would report it if i were you as it is always better to do so just in case.
Good luck :)

I agree, if you have all caught the cold/flu symptoms, it can't be caused by the vaccination.
