View Full Version : Grizzling at Night
My DS (15 weeks) will often stir in the night and whinge and grizzle for 15-20min then usually resettles and goes back to sleep.
The times we have reacted to the noises and go into his room he has instantly woken up, then needed a feed to go back to sleep (usually very short and a small amount).
Has anyone else had this experience? Should I be reacting? Surely if he wants us the grizzle would turn into a cry/scream?
Thanks

ignore it as long as possible as long its just a grizzle- turn the monitor of for 5 mins if you have one
when i put ds down (8 months) i literally put him down, RUN out the door before he rolls over as see's me. if he see's me he gets all exited and i end up having to rock him to sleep (dont get him into that habit!!!)
its really good if you can ignore it because he will learn to re-settle himself and will be sleeping through before you know it!
(if he is screaming he might want a feed..i think they say at 6 months they dont "need" night feeds) my ds slept through from about that ago tho..
My DD is 7 months and sometimes does the same thing. She wakes up has a little grizzle and goes back to sleep. Sometimes she wakes up and chats to herself for 5 mins and then nods off again. When she 1st started grizzling I would rush in there which would wake her up even more so now if she's just whinging I leave her and she goes back to sleep on her own. :)

I wouldn't be going in but there is nothing wrong with listening at the door if you are worried.
