Hi im about to have my second baby and i've decided to do cloth all in one nappys for her.. (to save money, so i don't have to buy 2 lots of them)

I've been making them myself and they seem great, im just wondering how hard/time consuming they are to use in conparison to disposable?

Am I in over my head, planing this for the second one?

I use a variety of AIO's, pockets and fitted. There is an extra load of washing each day (and the more nappies you have, the less often you do washing - I have 2 days worth so I wash yesterday's nappies today, IYKWIM) but apart from that, it's no more time consuming IMO. If I used disposables, and DS had a pooey nappy, I'd have to scrape/squirt the poo into the toilet then walk outside to the bin. But with cloth, I scrape/squirt the poo into the toilet then put the nappy into the wetbag or bucket. Then once a day I wash a load of nappies. I am using the dryer (our line is undercover and it's too cold and wet here) at the moment but hanging them out on the line isn't hard either.
The only thing with AIO's is that they do take longer to dry. Pockets are a much better alternative, Greens are apparently the best http://www.greenkids.com.au/(hey look at me I sound just like Veve or Ally :p ) the thing with pockets is that they don't need a cover, you stuff them as much as needed, and you wash the stuffing and the nappy separate so the drying time is quicker. My advice is, don't buy a huge expensive bulk pack of one kind, buy a few of each different type so you can try them out. Then buy a heap of the ones you like the best. Have you been to http://www.ozclothnappies.org?
