The last 2 days I have diverted my washing machine water into a bucket and watered the garden with it (so far only clothes washes).

This morning I did my nappy wash. I usually do a cold rinse and then a 40 degree wash. EWWW :barf:the water was soooo gross that I ended up doing a second rinse after the main wash - until the water ran clear.

So do this and see what your water is like. It will give you a good indication as to how "clean" your really getting your nappies.

P.S - I always scrap poo out of nappies and then give them a good rinse in the laundry sink before putting in for dry pailing.

Oh I don't think I want to know!! I'm going to put disposable flushable liners in her morning nappies from now on!

Oh yuck!
I have often wondered if it would be cleaning them completely. Especially if they seem a little smelly the next time he wears them. Unless I am running out of time to do washing I usually wash my nappies on 40 degrees delicate super wash. I'm glad I do it now. Thanks for sharing that mortifying news :s

we have a diverter permanently going to our garden but I have never looked! Gross! I do a hot rinse cycles first and then a normal wash, but maybe I should be doing another rinse after too? Gonna check it out next wash!

I've been doing a hot rinse after the wash as well.... I figured it would save me doing strip washes as often... and now i'm glad :)
