I'm trying to figure out which one is the best and what the difference is between them (apart from the obvious one rocks, one bounces one is a swing ).

What did you choose, what did you use it for and how long did u use it for it?

With DD I had a bouncer, which I loved because it was simple design, light and easy to carry around the house, and when she moved, it moved, so to a degree it entertained her while I was in the shower or hanging out washing.

With DS I've gone with a rocker, because I couldn't find a bouncer I liked. I've never really used it to rock him though, it's more of a safe place I can strap him into and I take it to the bathroom, kitchen, laundry, clothesline etc.

Now that he's 6 months old, we hardly use it anymore, as he's happy on the floor, and less happy to be stuck in one place.

:iagree: the papasan swing by Fisher Price.

We have used this so much, if my DD wont sleep I can almost guarentee a sleep in the swing....she is 4 months old and still loves it.

We have a bouncer too and I think I've only used it twice, she is just not that impressed with it. Althoug once she is too big for the swing she might use it more.

It really depends on the child. I used a bouncer and DD loved it, i got so much use out of it
I would take along with me into different rooms and it was a godsend for having showers - i could put DD in the bouncer in the bathroom and sometimes the sound of the water would even put her to sleep. I used it for ages, from newborn until she was too big for it at about 9/10 months (? i think - not sure)
We had a swing and DD hated it. She was happy in it one time and fell asleep and every other time we tried she screamed the place down. It was wasted money for us, but many love it and get great use out of it.
I would suggest not spending too much money on either unless you know bub loves it and you won't know that until you try.

annonymouse like u i anticipate that it will be the most useful to have somewhere to strap bubs into while i go to the toilet hang out the washing etc

definitely a swing.... best invention ever....It keeps going if you get busy or need to do something.... or bub just wont sleep at 3 am and you cant stay awake..... One I have has music and things hanging over it ... so kept DD entertained and u could turn it off and flip it away when they were sleeping or so they could watch u doing what ever.

Next option would be bouncer.... they move with bub or keep going for a min after u bounce it for them.

I had a rocker and never used it ... it didnt really rock much it was just to sit in ... and u had to be constantly rocking it as soon as u stop it stopped. .. so DD didnt like it was easier just to put her in the cot or wherever.

We have a rocker without any toys attached. It is easy to move and he likes it but without the toys you need to spend some time occupying him and giving him toys. Both grandparents have bouncers with toys, which he loves. So its a pity you can't try before you buy. :)

I've got a rocker which has a vibrate button, music button, different recline positions and attached toys. This is great when I want to hang out some washing and keep bub occupied and off the ground. It's easy to move around and rock with your feet when you're trying to eat your dinner etc, lol!

I also have a 'Lil Lamb' Papasan Swing, swings forwards/backwards and sideways, is off the ground, has melodies, an overhead mirror and mobile which spins around and flaps up and down and is so luxuriously soft, I wish they made them for adults! :p
It's a hit and miss this one, somedays my baby loves it and other days she doesn't want a bar of it, and it was quite $$$.

All in all, I think the rocker has been the bigger hit with our baby and I don't think I would rush out to buy a swing unless you had a very unsettled, collicky baby, or a baby which likes to be constantly held, as it is a god send for that.
