How many times do you wash MCN's...

...before using them? Do you use detergent on every pre-wash load or just the first?

I wash them 3 times.
The first load I use 1/2 a scoop of Bosistos Eucofresh powder and wash @60 degrees on delicate
then the next two times I don't use powder and wash on 40 degrees delicate.
I use detergent in the first load to help get rid of the excess dies and build up in the fabric.

I do a pre-wash with a very sm amt of detergent & then a full wash...

I then just wear them for shorter periods of time (till they've been washed about 4-6times) cos i know they wont be at full aborbency - and I just HATE leaks:hair:

I washed mine 3 times without any detergent and they haven't leaked once (yet - fingers crossed!)

3 times, longest wash cycle, cold water, without detergent and I don't dry between each wash. Then on the line in the sun to dry.

I was mine once with the normal nappy load. Then when DD wears them I'm just aware that there not a maximum, so to only leave them on for an hour or so. Gradually they get their several washes and were all good, and didn't waste all that water doing 3 washes, especially when its only 1 or 2 new nappies (if I got 12 or so that would be different).
