View Full Version : movements easing
I was wondering what is the longest period of time you have noticed bubs not moving?
I'm currently 22 weeks and on Tuesday bubs was full on all day, then yesterday there was not so much at all, just a light kick or two late in the evening, and so far today not even a swish.
Is it normal for this stage of my p/g? I know the movement is supposed to become more hectic later on so maybe I'm just paranoid since it is still quite early in my p/g.

My DD went through stages like that. One day beating the heck out of my internal organs, other days barely a wriggle. I was told that that was normal and I tried not to worry about it too much... its tough though!
I remember the same around then, I think baby's moving around, kicking your back maybe or just not right up against your belly. I hate it when they don't move.. paranoia sets in. :)
Yes, I remember those worrying days as well and it was around the same time in the pregnancy.
I would have a huge glass of ice cold orange juice to get the little blighter dancing, and then I hired a fetal doppler and never had that worry again because I could just put the doppler on for a few seconds and hear his little heart beating away.
They're from www.firstbeats.com.au and no, I don't get a commission although I should...:D
I can understand how you are feeling as I worried so much myself during this time and still do and I am now 40 weeks!
Bubs have days that are more active than others I guess, also, when you are busy it is easy to miss them. I always find my bubba plays up mostly in the late mornings and evenings/nights.
Have a big glass of water and sit still for a while and Im sure you'll get some action from bubs that will ease your mind

Hey,
The doppler is a great idea, best thing i ever got. DH and I listen to it in the evenings before bed and its just the most soothing thing. I just fall asleep with the heart beat still playing through my mind.:)

Hi Bambino (cool username btw)
I'm 24 weeks and this happens all the time with me aswell. Somedays the kicks are so strong you can see my tummy jerk and other days like yesterday I only got a few nudges. I read where babies have there up days as well as there down days in utero just like anyone else would...........it's amazing to think that a fetus can already experience different shifts of mood and energy.

hi Bambino
I am now 28 weeks pg but I remember at the same stage as you that some days I would feel bubba and then the next bub would be very quiet...my OB said its because of where my placenta is lying...now I feel movement all the time and normally at the same time of the day....late at night, early in the morning and after I have eaten......
If you are worried, try an ice cold glass of water and lie down with your feet up...it works every time, or have some chocolate.....
its so reassuring when you feel the kicks/nudges...I worry if bubba goes quiet.......I know how you feel, but I am sure bubba is resting and growing beautifully!
take care
