View Full Version : Do you take Bubs to the hairdresser with you?
Hello,
I usually don't take Poppy with me only because she hates sitting in the one place for too long and my hair usually takes 2 1/2 hours to do.
Unfortunatley DH's mum can't look after her today and I have no choice but to take her with me this afternoon ( wedding on weekend, only time I could get in before it ).
So the big question - Do you take bubs to hairdresser with you? and how to you manage it??
thanks
Amy

I don't, because like you my hair takes ages to get done!!!! and it would be a bit hard trying to manage bubs at the same time

I take my DD only because my sister owns the business and i can let her run around and do what she wants. (she even re-arranges all the hair products for her onto the floor).
I took Eliza the other week she sat in the stroller while he told me what he was going to do with my hair, then she sat on my knees while they washed and gave me a massage then I fed her under the cloak for the rest of the time!!!
but my hair only took about an hour and 20 mins!!
good luck, maybe someone can help you at the salon!
My sister owns a hair salon, and of course i take my kids because
1) she has a kids station with tv/dvd player, table of things to do like puzzles and colouring-in etc.. for older kids 2) i know all the girls and they get clucky over my baby so someone is there to take her for cuddles haha.
Also...
I noticed a few saying how long it takes to get hair done.. just wanted to mention that my sister has this machine at her salon, for processing hair dyes quick. instead of waiting ages to set, you go under (like the hair blowers, kinda) and it sets the dye in under 20 mins.
makes time go by much quicker.
maybe try and find a more kid friendly/orientated salon or something that has quick processing.
I know this only helps with dyes and you may get other things done like cut and style etc.. but some things can be done quicker.
I have only been to the hairdresser once since I had kids!
When hubby goes to the barber's we all go!
The kids love watching their Dad get a haircut.
I have a fantastic mobile hairderesser who comes to my house!its great coz riley can just play,or sit in his highchair while I get my haircut!!
Having had it dyed yet so will see how that goes!

I think it depends on the type of hairdresser you're going to. I always take Ryan with me to mine which is down the road. it's family owned and they know all their clients by name and the hairdressers love playing with bubs when they come in.
Take plenty of toys etc to keep bub happy and don't be afraid to attend to her if she's getting upset, Ryan still loves looking at himself in the mirror while sitting on my lap.
Good Luck
No way!!! I was there for 4 hours yesterday,...and there is no way on earth I could have kept Scarlett occupied for that long! Thank God for my parents!!!!!!

I take DS (5.5 months) with me, take his play gym, and park him on the floor next to my hairdresser's baby, who is 3 days younger!
