Can wee on toliet but not poo?

Hello:)
A two year old i look after three times a week is currently toliet training, she has is now toilet trained when it comes to wee's but unfortunately not with poos, is this common that poo's take a bit longer and any advice how to get her to the toliet for a poo? Just before she did the poo she has a wee on the toliet and she hadnt done one all day so i knew one was coming so i asked her to have a go and she tried for a while but nothing! Shes not into pull ups so a daily poo is not much fun for all involved!

Hi Laura.
Apparently this is common. I had this problem with my DD.
After a while it became apaprent that she was actually afraid to poo while on the toilet.
SO... i told her about the "special cream" (some may call it a small tub of sudocrem :o , but shhhhhhh....)
I told her that when you put that cream on before you go to the toilet, it doesn't hurt when you do a poo.
She seemed unsure, but when i put a bit on her toosh, wowwies... off she went. Then of course she realised it didn't hurt. And yep, she thought it was because of the "special cream" :D
For a while each time she went, she asked for the special cream to make sure it didn't hurt. She would even pack it in her nappy bag so she didn't have to go while out without it.
But eventually, it was phased out and she was fine.

But the special cream worked wonders! :thumbsup:

yeah, had same problem with my eldest daughter, she was afraid at first then i encouraged her to use the toilet when she had to do poo, and reasurred her that it was ok and not scary and gave her lots of praise when she did one on the toilet, it worked wonders! good luck!!:fingerscrossed:

I forgot about this thread but im happy to say little miss 2 is now doing poo's on the toliet :smiliedance: it certainly makes life a lot easier!!
