Hello , I was wondering if somebody might be able to offer some advice or suggestions
My DD is a week off of 10 months old and she use to be quite a good sleeper during the day. But now that she is crawling she can take up to an hour and a half to settle for her day time sleeps and night time bedtime. Its a case of having to go back into her room and lay her down again for the hour and a half, she stands at the end of her cot crying for me. She has always been a great sleeper. during the day except if she was unwell. If I dont try and make her have a bit of sleep during the day, then at night time...bedtime is just horrible. And I end up just taking her out of her room. even though I know she is tired
thanks
Sharn
Maybe move her day sleep to a bit later. How many sleeps is she having? Maybe she is ready to miss one of those sleeps?
My DD is not quite 8mths and she wakes at about 7:30am, and has one sleep at about 12:30 then goes to bed at about 6:30 - 7pm. Some days she will have 2 shorter sleeps, I tend to just go with what she wants to do. If she seems tired I put her in her bed, if she is still awake after about 30mins I get her up and she usually plays happily for another hour or so then goes to sleep.
Hi there
I am not one to presume knowledge on this (have issues with my DS sleep!) but we did go through this one a few weeks back. All of a sudden he decided that NO he would not go to sleep without a fight and the standing in the cot happened for every sleep for about 5 days. I just waited for him to settle. The first day was 2.5 hours!!!!!!!!! the second sleep was about 40 mins then it got less and less and now he doesnt do it only a week or so later. He doesnt have great length naps always but its ok if he doesnt scream the house down.
I am wondering if its a developmental phase as lots of people have this happen from what i hear/read.
Be encouraged - these things are so hard arent they :( but in a few days or a week i hope to hear that you are putting bub down without a fight.:)

my son is 10.5 months and he is very active climbing and walking about. he sleeps in a grobag sleeping bag as this stopped him standin up and moving about. i follow a routine by tizzie hall and have done since about 7-8 months old as he started to not sleep during the day and wake 1-2 time sper night. it works like a dream now it only took about 3 days to teach himself to self settle for each sleep. he goes to bed at 9-9.30am each morning for about 1 hour and again at 1.30pm for 1.5-2 hours and in bed my 7.00pm and wakes between 7-7.30am each morning.
good luck
Hello- not sure if I have any wothwhile advice as I have no idea why babies don't want to sleep especially when they are tired.
But sometimes it helps to know we are not alone.
First I'd like to say please don't get too stressed about it:hugs:
My baby is 8 mths and he drives me crazy sometimes sleeping:sleeping: all night and other nights cranky and waking several times.

Hello Ladies....
Just wanted to say thankyou very much, For the advice and support you have given me with your responses...
Sometimes I wonder if I am the only mum who is struggling with getting their bub to sleep...But its comforting to know that i am not the only one....Because sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming and frustrating when you cant get your bub to sleep...
I imagine in time she will be a good sleeper like her daddy
Hugs
Shaani :hugs:
