hi:wave:

just curious as to what time you put your kids to bed.

my 2 year old goes to bed at 8pm and my 4 year old goes to bed at 8:30pm. my youngest gets up at 7am and my eldest gets up after 7:30.

i'm mainly asking because my mum thinks my kids bedtime is too late and i'm just curious as to other peoples thoughts/routines. thanks :)

My son is 4 next week...generally speaking, he goes to bed at 7.30pm but depending on if he has been to kindy (he has a sleep there during the day which sucks!) depends if he falls asleep then. He then wakes around 7am - 7.30 in the morning

My son is 27 months - he goes to bed at 6.30pm for 1/2 hour of reading and lights out at 7pm. He gets up between 6.45am and 7.30am - he also sleeps approx 2 hours during the day.

I am not one for routine and I am very relaxed about things.
I get flak for not having the kids in bed at 7.30
The truth is every one is different and lifestyles vary between families.
My baby is in bed at 7.30
I encourage my older kids to go to bed early so they wont be tired especially for school.
But 9.30 probably isn't considered early is it?
But it is fine for my girl.
As for my boy I worry about him cos he is unwell and lays down during the day so I can't tell him to lay down IYKWIM - he is always laying down.

My 3yr old DS goes to bed about 7:30/8pm...depending on when we have dinner...he gets up as soon as it's daylight, so about 6:30am lately.

I'd love for him to sleep in more in the mornings, but keeping him up later at night doesn't help and he's soooo tired by 8pm I doubt he'd stay awake anyway. He hasn't had day sleeps since he was about 18mths old, except at kindy but he doesn't always sleep there either.

Your kids bedtimes sound like they are just right for your family

Our DD goes to bed at 6:30-7:00pm every night. She has dinner 5:00-5:30pm, a bath between 6:00-6:30, we read her a story in bed, then its lights out. We've always had that routine and it works well.
She's up at 7am in the morning.

Our older 2 (7 + 5), are into bed by 7-7.30. We aim for in bed by 7pm and then it's story time and talking about our day. I have watched quite a few mums over the last few years whose children go to bed late and get up late. They seem to have struggles now with getting their children up for school. I can't recall even once having to wake either of our children for school/kinder etc...
Although I do dream of the day that I get to sleep past 7am!

My oldest is nearly 4 and my youngest is almost 17 months and they both have a bedtime of 7. The oldest gets up about 7 -7.30 and does not have a daytime sleep and the youngest, well we are having sleep problems with her, but generally she has good daytime sleep, even if she does not sleep well at night.
