I am converting to using cloth wipes rather than disposable but can't work out the best way to do it. We change in the bedroom, so we're not near a tap to moisten the wipes. I have a spray bottle with a bit of a bum cleanser in it, but it doesn't seem to be wet enough when I spray it on, compared with what I'm used to with the disposable wipes. How do you work it when you use cloth wipes? Do you wet them first? Tell me your tips!! Thanks!

We haven't started using them yet but my plan is to continue changing dd next to the laundry sink but I want to know how we'll do it at night in her room as there is no tap there.

I kept a tub of cloths soaked chamomile tea at the change table, as we'd get through 10 or more per day, and just rinsed the tub and refreshed it after the last one was used.

I'm about to start and the cloths I have recommend not soaking them in the liquid. My plan is to keep my liquid in a huggies wipe dispenser and just dunk them in the liquid before I use each cloth. I bought monkey doodlez wipe cube solution. Can't wait to try it out!

I have my stash of cloths in the bathroom and just grab one and wet it before grabbing bubs and changing his nap in his room.

You could also use an old wipe box and in the morning put all your wash cloths for the day in there and run some water into it, just so they are damp not soaking. The use as you need. At the end of the day empty the box and start again in the morning.

I keep all the wipes close by - sometimes you need more than you think!!! (especially when you accidentally let go of a leg and oh yukky!!!!)

I have a plastic bottle with water next to the change area that I use to dampen the wipes. It's a sports drink bottle, one of those with a pop top lid.

I'm pretty disorganised about it.

I change DS on the floor wherever he happens to be at the time, so I go collect the nappy stuff and then hunt him down. So now I just stop at the bathroom on my way and wet a cloth wipe or two. I like it because it means I can make the wipe nice and warm for his little bottom. Am I a sook or what!

My wipes are a cut up old polar fleece dressing gown (a suggestion from the Hub!). I make up the wipes solution in a small icecream container, then soak the wipes in it. Only ever enough for 2 days, as the solution recommends changing it that often to avoid fungus/bacteria buildup. I keep the tub on the change table shelf. They then just get chucked in the nappy bucket with the nappies.

They are SO much better than the disposables for cleaning up messes...can't believe it took me so long to switch!

Pretty much the same except i use one of the huggies refillable containers...if im out i just pour out the water but they are still moist. Just make a fresh one each day.

i use a foaming wipes wash that I have next to the change table with my wipes.

i just squirt 2 pumps onto the wipe and clean that little bum up...LOL. its soo easy.

I'd be worried about keeping any home made solutions container for too long, hygiene wise - maybe max 2 days only.

you'll save a fortune doing cloth wipes etc. plus one more step of kindness to our beautiful planet.... :yelclap:

LOL - In the mornings I always feel so guilty running the tap until its warm for her. In a drought! But she hates getting her bub wiped anyway and really freaks out if its cold. And i don't blame her!

We change in the bathroom so I wet one before the change. And keep disposables on hand if I need extra.
