It might be a bit dark for a littlies room. Then again it is Johnny Depp :valentine: so all normal rules go out the window.:o

UMM YES sorry I think edward scissorhands is a little scary for an 8 month old.
When I was little I was scared of shadows outside my window I would have been terrified if my mum put a poster of a freaky looking guy with claw like hands in my room.

 good point!!
his room is full of skulls & pirate stuff... i have a bit of a 'dark' liking :o
its definately a personal choice...i dont find anything wrong with it and your the parent and if you dont find anything wrong dont worry about what others think is "right"
If he's scared of it than yes...
If he's not scared of it than no.
We used to watch dad 'harvest' ducks and chickens when we were little and I think we even helped with a pig. We didn't have a concern with it, but for others that would have been quite traumatic.
You know your son better than we do. Just don't let the yumminess of JD get in the way of decision making ;)

My dd is 3 months old and is obsessed with dh's saw doll. She hugs it and licks it's face 24/7. The only one with a problem with it is my parents.

 Oh no, that might become her comfort item and you'll need to take it with you everywhere you go

What's not to like?
Johnny Depp - tick
Great movie - tick
Something different and unusual for your son - tick
That's three out of three for me!

Us too!
We have a chucky doll with eyes that follow you
And a collection of Living Dead Dolls
That's what made the grandparents mad, DP wants to put some of the not so gory LDD's in JD's room but his parents were horrified and they would come in and remove them
I kinda agree with the LDD thing
However I think Edward Scissorhands is ok, you would know if your bubba is scared of the poster or not, and if the time comes if it is a bit scary you can just move it
I was scared of clowns as a little one
If he's not phased by it I dont see the problem... Although in this house it'd go in my room :p
but this is coming from someone sitting here in a Cannibal Corpse t-shirt :p

really?? yay :yelclap:
Im a big Carcass fan :p
DD hates Santa Claus yet loves Jack the Pumpkin king.... She also adores the likes of Beatle Juice, the Corpse Bride etc.....
If her room wasn't so girly and frilly and I had a collection like yours, then yeah I wouldn't think twice about hanging it in his room....
I don't think it's as easy as saying yes it is or no its not appropriate.... each child is different and has quite different tastes and sensibilities...
Go with your gut!
This is a big metal household :D Should find the thread for you where I posted the youtube link to DF's death metal band (he's the lead guitarist).. Might do it after dinner.
I think your DD will let you know if it is innappropriate or not....he'll cry if he doesn't like it. DD freaks out over things like In The Night Garden, but anything gory has her attention straight away (although she is freaking out a bit more at everything, bless).
When my nephew was born, I bought him a Leonard the Terrible teddy (they're french, v cool..he carries around a dead teddy)...my sister visibly shuddered when she opened it, and told me no way she was giving it to him. Same thing with the monster lights I bought him (you know, the cute ones with the mummies and the little vampires on them). They'rs not creepy, they're cool.
People need to lighten up. When she's not around, I let him listen to the Deftones, and tell him it's lion music, and they're roaring.

My brother has a whole collection of band posters, including one of himself (he's a solo artist) and DD wants copies of all of them. At the moment her favourite song is one by Iron Maiden, but she also loves Black Sabbath (from when Ozzy Osbourne was with them), Nirvana, Gunners, Greenday and Blink 182. We don't have any posters, but we would if I had the space for them. We have lots of photos on our walls, photos I've taken as well as professional photos of the 2 of us and some of just her.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it unless he gets scared down the track with it. But it was such a sweet movie, not really a scary movie at all.
