DS is booked in to Tweddle (sleep school) on the 19th for a 3 night stay, with me of course.
but over the past 2 weeks he has been sleeping through the night (YAY!) and having day sleeps, which he NEVER used to do...
He is sleeping in his cot at night, but the day sleeps still involve me cuddling him to sleep with a bottle, in my bed, then me sneaking out (only way he will sleep in the day)
Im not sure if this is just a phase of him sleeping well & maybe return back to his old ways, or if infact he has finally got it??
Should i still take this opportunity or will they think im wasting their time now that DS is sleeping better, and maybe soemone else needs it more than we do??
There are a few issues i would still like help with, such as getting him out of the wrap (ONLY way he will sleep at night is if i wrap him really tight with his arms down his side, whilst also being held into position with an anti-roll pillow, then blankets ontop tucked in really tight *sigh*) as well as getting him to have day naps in his own cot.

what would you do??
I really have had a hard time over the past 8 months getting him to sleep, so i dont know if i should cancell or not??

I'm a better safe than sorry kinda gal so my thought is YES....still go!

Its GREAT that your DS has been sleeping better but from the sounds of it there is still room for improvement! Imagine if they are able to show you/show him how to self settle and sleep BETTER during the day. Imagine what great things the might teach you/him!

IMO you really have nothing to lose from going along to the sleep school. :)

I would still go
I put off sleep school because DD would have periods of great sleep but it would never last. Then my time ran out and she was too old for sleep school and her sleep was all over the place so i wish i had taken the chance why i had it.
You still have some issues, as you said, so it won't be like you are going for nothing.

Thanks guys.. i think i will.
Things are about to change in our house too.. A friend & her 3 year old DD are moving in next week so its going to be ALOT noisier (sp?) with the other little one... its always been only myself & DS living alone, so its always been pretty quiet..
I guess if i didnt go, and everything changes here & he returns back to his old ways, then id have no hope in hell in getting him to sleep successfully.
At least they can show me things that might help for this too??
thanks :)

I would still go....

He could just be extra sleepy just prior to a growth spurt or developmental stage???
And may revert back

i would still go.

i have not been to one but from what i have heard they are a wealth of information for not only sleep, they teach you some fantastic techniques for handling a few different situations and hey, this mum gig is hard stuff....any tips along the way can only help

You will probably find that sleep school places are not particularly quiet so it may actually help him get used to sleeping through some extra noise which would he when your friend moves in.
