Has anyone had one of these?? I posted it in the pregnancy health section but thought it might be better here...

I just got my results back from my 19 wk scan and apparently an "incidental intra-uterine synechia" was found "appearing thicker than normal" (or scar tissue on the inside of my uterus). I need to get another ultrasound done in a few weeks to see if it is going to effect my pregnancy or the growth of the baby. OB said they may have to operate on my uterus before bub is born to remove it if it interferes with baby's growth.

I have never heard of this happening before and am not sure how it occured as I have never had any trauma to my uterus that could cause scar tissue like this.

I am so worried it will effect the health of my baby and that complications of preterm labour or worse may arrise - although I also know this may not happen. :(

Just after anybody who may have heard/experienced this before and how everything turned out????

I am just a little stressed by it!

TIA

I have not had anything like this but I just wanted to give you :hugs:.

If it does help I had a C/S with my first and when PG with my second they constantly looked in U/S at my C/S scar. It didn't interfere at all with my bub and I went on to have a VBAC.

:fingerscrossed: it all works out ok

I got told when I had my M/C in Feb I had lots of Scar tissue (2 C-sections)
they even even talking about possible opening me up during my D&C to fix it if it was bad enough
(by Ultrasound it looked quite bad)
(but they didn't)

they haven't mentioned it once this pregnancy:confused:

Hi H&D's. Thanks for your reply. I think the difference with the sort of scar tissue I have is that it is like a band that stretches into the uterine cavity (from the front to back) and can actually impede the growth of the baby's sac. Or worse, permeate into the placenta and reduce blood and nutrients to the baby :( Which I think is called amniotic-band syndrome.

Am just PRAYING this won't happen to me. There is still a good chance it may not :fingerscrossed:
