There has been a lot of media reporting of late on the spending habits of working parents and the changing social expectations of children's birthday parties. It has been reported that some parents are spending in excess of one thousand dollars on their child's first few birthday parties, including fully catered events with an expectation for both mums and dads to attend (including the provision of alcoholic beverages and activities for the parents.

I am conducting a study into the spending and planning habits of children's birthday parties for the age bracket of 12 months to 5 years of age, by parents both in the workforce and at home. I am interested in your experience and opinions and would appreciate your input to assist me in writing an article for parents regarding this trend.

If you could please take 5 mins to complete the following survey it would make me so very happy :yelclap::D

also if anyone has any stories of parties they have attended for children in the under 6 age bracket that they would like to share, please feel free to let me know - the more outrageous or over the top, the better.

Thanks everyone, and keep those survey replies coming :D:yes:

Thanks so much for completing the survey and for your thoughts on alcohol  Some of the reports in the media in the last 12 months have mentioned that parties in this age group are offering the option of alcoholic beverages supposedly to cater for the dads - despite the fact that most parties in the 0-5age group are held in the 9 to 12 timeslot. Now you have to ask what sort of example that is setting for these young kids
