View Full Version : Little Squirt
Well my DS has just done a massive cr@p and although i used a flushable liner (well two actually) he managed to paint the entire nappy, even underneath the liner(which are not very efficient). How many of you have a little squirt??
Are they easy to install/use??
Do you actually have to put the nappy in the toilet, like does it touch the sides of the bowl??
Are they efficient, do they work good??
How much did you pay??
Im not keen on wiping excess off into the toilet and washing in my laundry tub :barf:We have old school plumbing so it takes a while to float away.
Thanks heaps for your help :)

Hey
oh noooo:barf:
yep, I've got a little squirt... and love love love it.... seriously I couldnt manage without it (for the same reason your just describing)
its really easy to install.... like really easy to install and use.
yes I put my nappy in the loo and it does touch the bowl (but not much) it doesnt touch the water in the bowl though.
I paid $40 from bunnings, but i got it on sale as they werent stocking anymore. I think for a new one around cheapest I've seen is $75 on ebay. You can also get them second hand, but my advice is to make sure it is in perfect condition prior to buying (I bought one off ebay second hand and it leaked heaps... not happy!)
I'd definately recommend one!
I don't have a little squirt but have been doing a bit of research into them to find a cheap alternative. Most plumbing shops have a similar thing and are around the $40-$50 mark. Call your local stores and see if they can help you.

Personally, I wouldn't buy the cheap plastic ones off ebay as they are more trouble than they are worth, invest in a decent one. If you buy the cheap one with plastic fittings rather than chrome, you shouldn't leave the water connected to it as the risk of blowing a part and flooding your bathroom or worse could be devastating.
They are easy to install and worth every penny. I have seen them for around $80 off online MCN stores or you could buy the parts separately from a plumbing shop for around $50.

i havent seen any other brand other than "the little squirt" - they do sell this brand on ebay & mcn shops too! i also checked at plumbing shops too but cheapest i saw there was $90
agree ^^ the little squirts are chrome parts
Thanks ladies. :)
Anybody else??

I'm seriously considering one. Liners are just annoying me now, and I think it would be great to have one. This is a great thread for helping me to make up my mind!

 pity not many people are answering. Does your DD paint her nappy too

Oh yes indeed - not a lot but lately she has had gastroenteritis. Seven poos a day, putrid, messy, stinking explosions. OMG.

I love our Little Squirt! Miss B and her brother when he was in nappies NEVER did a poo that just rolled off the nappy ... so we couldn't live without it.
Hubby has trouble NOT painting the walls and mainly himself with poo but that's because he's so anally clean, he won't lean the nappy into the bowl to spray it off (germs you know ) and as a result is normally sprayed with the backsplash.
It was very easy to install ... hubby did it quickly and with no swear words uttered. :p
I just bought it at Bunnings ... looked on Ebay but they were going for not much less than new and again hubby liking everything clean, wasn't too fussed on a secondhand one.
You'll love it, won't look back and keep the box, then when you are finished with it sell it on Ebay. :D
Wow Chesby, sound messy, i hope she gets better soon. DS did three today and took his nappy off straight after one of them, EWW.
I will definitely be telling DF to buy one then, ill have to look as online stores as i am not near a bunnings, or even a plumbing store.
I would just wash it in the laundry sink but we have old school pluming down there so it takes ages to wash away.

I have one more question about these before I go and buy one.
The last three or four poos of DD's have been ridiculous. Like they're made half out of glue, and half out of cement.
Are the little squirts strong enough to get really, really stubborn poos off? Like the kind that are made out of araldite?? :D
Is it a high-pressure type of jet that comes out or won't they handle a really tacky, sticky poo?

 I was wondering the exact same thing this morning. Bit my laundry tap is just a normal tap and it can blast the stickies off so im sure a LSquirt will. I have been slack and havent bought one yet. Better get to it.

Well that's why I asked because our laundry tap has one hell of a power-jet and it couldn't handle these poos this morning... I was hoping that the little squirt might be able to!

I keep thinking of getting one but I would have to install it in my ensuite which is down the other end of the house as I seriously do not trust Miss 6 & Master 5 to leave it alone.. all hell would break loose
I just had a thought (and sorry if this is too gross) but we have a corner garden that no one goes near, it just had a tree in it and some mulchy stuff underneath it... could you squirt it into a bucket and then tip the poo and the water over the garden? Would it work like a compost? I'm thinking I could keep a bucket in the ensuite and then empty it when I'm done... or maybe it's just because it's late at night that I'm even thinking this way :D

YES get one!
I also find mine a must have.
I have to say I am the only one who can use it though cos DP hasn't managed to master the art and splashes poo over the entire bathroom and on his face etc...but I manage fine and love it.
We found it pretty easy to install even though our toilet has really ancient plumbing.

Yep, get one! they're great for getting all poops off... even those cement ones (LOL) - you can adjust the pressure on them to whatever suits you.
:iagree:my DH tends to have problems with it too... I dont think he aims the spray gun down properly ....
I wouldnt be doing the garden thing. I dont think it would be good for compost either, I could be wrong here, but I think human faeces isnt good for compost etc
I say, get on online now, do it, just buy one, you wont regret it!
