Hi all,

Im just wondering should i have invited my MIL up?
She only got engaged on monday which was her birthday and her partner start abusing my df ( My MIL's Son) about how he brain washes his mother not to move in with him etc. But its my mil that doesnt want to move in and had another to do with what my df said. Anyways cut a really long story short. they went home after lunch and we get a phone call around 7.30 8 pm and its his mum. Her partner abused her all the way back to her place and walked out on her. Shes a little unset about this but she said she isnt going to take him back becasue of the way he was also leaving on her 50th birthday.. Anyway df wanted me to call his mum while he went out for the day with dd.( His on annuel leave/ holiday) and i spoke to her for 4 plus hours on the phone cause she wanted another woman to talk to about it.. Df did say to her she can come and stay at our place when she wants.. But i feel as tho i should have invited her up to stay for the weekend to keep her mind busy. Should i have.. Should i call and see if she wants to come and stay on the weekend and spend time with dd. we live 2 hours away from her so that is why she would stay..
Sorry for the rant

It sounds like your MIL's boyfriend is abusive and strange. If she did move in with him it wouldn't surprise me if he turned violent as from what you have said, he is showing all the signs of being very controlling.

Yes I think it would be nice if you invited her for the weekend.

I am sure you MIL would greatly appreciate you offer but I would be skeptical of whether the boyfriend will follow and start something?!
