DD has just realised she can stand in her cot. She has been eating the top of the railing and bits of wood are flaking off and im finding them in her mouth.
How can i stop her from eating her way out?

I think you can buy plastic covers that go on top of the cot bar. My cot has them but I bought it with them on so not sure where you buy them. I'm sure any baby shop should be able to help you out :)

Yep - you can buy plastic guards for the tops of cots - many new cots already come with them. Lots and lots of babies commonly chew on their cot top (especially when they're teething) so I'd call your local baby store or outlet and see if they sell them separately to the cot - I'm sure they do.
Is it actually the wood you find in her mouth, or just the varnish or outer coating? I'd actually be worried if it was the wood, because it would mean that either your child has one heck of a bite, or the cot is on the flimsy side.
Places like Babies Galore etc sell the plastic railing to pritect the sides or the cot. They didn't help me though because DD just took to chewing on the headboards!

bump Does anyone have any other ideas as I cant get to a baby shop anytime soon?
what about if you roll or fold up a bath towel long ways and tie it on tightly with something cable ties or something like that? I dont know i had the teether covers for my son but they didnt really help either as he thought they were more of a toy to pull off lol.
good Luck

Could you try online or ebay if you can't get out to a shop?
Sorry no experience, but was curious, the things you never expected to deal with as a parent :)
