1st birthday Thank Yous? to send or not to send?

Hi all as some of you know my lil Emmy was 1 not to long ago but ive been slack in sending the Thank Yous out, my buddies are like why send thank yous,there is no need to waste your time and money! should i bother or not?, i have done it with my older kiddies but is it a thing of the past?:o

I thanked guests at the party and sent email thanks to those who sent stuff so I didn't really feel it necessary to post additional thank you's...... and for that matter, neither did anyone who's first birthdays we attended so I guess we all had the same reasoning.

I didnt send thank you's either. Simply thanked the guests at the party.

It is something i usually do, but after sending thankyou letters for the baby shower, after the birth, after his operation, our engagement party and then our wedding, considering they were all going to the same people i figured they would understand this time.

Although i did send a thank you and some photos to my 80 year old nanna!

I sent thankyous in the mail for all the gifts we were given for my DD's first B'day. I guess if all your friends are on email, you could email them a thankyou. But I think it is really nice to get a thankyou either way.

I have printed out thankyou's for all my family who sent pressies for bubs at various times. I put a little picture of them on the day or similar on it too. My family have all said its a nice little touch, and that not many people care to do it nowadays. I haven't sent them to everyone....mostly family, younger friends i mostly email.

If we all stopped doing things just 'cos no-one else does, then all of these nice thoughts and actions will die out! If it can brighten someone's day just a little bit, then so be it.....:)

I emailed the invitations with a pic of MJ & did the same for thankyous with a picture from the day of the party :yes:

We had such a large group so I thought because I didn't have a good chat with each I would say thankyou personally with a magnet and a photo from the party in a card for each family. It was well recieved and I will will do it with my next also. I kept one and put it in his scrapbook album. I wrote it like it was from him.:thumbsup:
