Hi People,
My 2 WW ended on Sunday, and I am pretty gloomy, especially since I feel that I brought on AF or 'helped her along'. I'll explain.
I am a regular runner, I do about 12 to 15km (btw 1hr to 1hr 15 minutes daily) 4 times a week. The day before AF was due, I did my usual 15km, and some stomach crunches. It was hot and humid, but I am used to running in these conditions and even consciously reduced my speed that day. After the run, before taking my shower, I checked CF (which had remained creamy during the 2WW) and saw that it had turned a very pale brown. While in bed that night I felt some wetness( sorry for TMI) but did not find this unusual since my 2WW CF had not dried up. Next morning and the day after, I had the heaviest AF I've ever had:crying: , which started out heavy and not with a day of spotting, as is usual for me.

In the course of the 2WW, I had noticed changes that for me were never pre menstural and I assure you were not psychosomatic either:
First, my sleep pattern totally changed and I seemed to be up almost every hour of the night: 2-something am, 3 am, 4-something am, and by 5 am, I couldn't get back to sleep. I was also( and consequently) sooo tired during the day, I had to take a nap in the early afternoon (I fell back asleep immediately after having breakfast on two occasions). I had heartburn for several days (The only time I ever get this is when I eat raw onions and that's never) and I also woke up with a stuffy nose several mornings. I usually have a bad case of water retention pre-menstural but had absolutely nothing this time round . On the other hand, my lower belly was very turgid. I somewhat lost appetite and when I did eat, I felt too full after just a few bites....and I also seemed to be on a cheese crave whereas Pre Menstural, I ALWAYS crave milk chocolate with/and nuts, but felt absolutely nothing for that this time round. Another thing was that I had painless cramps for some two to three days prior to AF showing up, and this I NEVER have. For the first time in my life I had no PMS 'black moods'; I did have mood swings, but these switched between euphoria and anger(at things that normally would not get me mad).
In addition to all that, I also had the usual bloating and gas, which seemed to be thrice as bad(sorry TMI) so much that DH complained- he normally can take it all:D

Well, to cut this long one short, I feel that running on that particular day was a bad idea and I just have to stop :banghead: and stay positive in preparation for the next BD, in a couple of days...I have just come across a forum where someone says that their doctor adviced them not to exercise much during 2WW for implantation reasons. Another says to avoid exercising in hot an humid weather conditions... I would really appreciate any  or info anyone may have on any exercising dos and donts during the 2WW and in early pregnancy; whether told by their doctor or read somewhere...
Thank you all, it feels so much better having this out and now I can smile . I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all those TTC and those Testing Soon!

Hi Beeata,

Implantation doesn't happen until about day 8 after O so it would be really unlikely that you would notice any pregnancy symptoms in the 2ww unless ultra sensitive and then it would only be one or two - not full on pregnancy symptoms. It sounds like maybe you were fighting a virus of some sort.

Heres two links on how strenuous exercise affects implantation.

Hope that helps.

Ho Colly spark,

I don't thin runnung would dislodge a growing ebryo. There is lots of paddingin there and running isn;t really that high an impact sport.

Sounds like your poor sleeping may be because it was hot and humid like you said. We all experience PMS symptoms worse than other times for no explained reason.
I never used to get PMS or any cramps with my AF, except maybe once a year it would be unbelievably painful and heavy. Our bobies are always changing.

I do rock climbing and climbed 6 times during my TWW. I've recently bought a heart rate monitor and my heart rate can get up to 210, but only for short bursts.
I now get it to beep when it gets to 135 and I rest. I can only climb now at about 60% intensity/difficulty (but it's worth it). You could perhaps get yourself one to alert you how high your heart rate is going if you are worried. Also, if you are that keen to get pregnant you have to compromise.. you can't be doing 15km runs every day, even though it may be routine for you we have to make sacrifices at some stage.

Think of all the african and chinese women who do hard labour right up until the birth.. they seem to have normal babies. I don't think gentle runiing would hurt.

Good luck with being a fit pregnant lady!

Beeata - I agree with everyone else that I don't think running would have made the difference either way. If you did conceive (and I guess you'll never know either way), then its likely the conception aborted itself for chromosonal reasons, rather than anything you did. Chemical pregancies like this (where AF comes heavy or slightly late) are very, very common (they say around 50% of conceptions), so don't go giving yourself a hard time - it most likely would have happened anyway.

Hello girls,

Thanks for the encouraging words and info.; They all went a long way in cheering me up.
Annsam:Thank you for the links, I found them very useful and encourging.
Collyspark & Little Toad: I am definitely planning on taking it easy in the DPO period. Months ago, I asked my Gyne. whether I was probably doing too much and was probably 'inhibiting conception' but she said that as long as my sporting activities do not result in amenorrhea, they can only be beneficial.

DH and I have agreed to take it easier during the 2WW. So, during this first half of my cycle, I'll do my usual, but will do much less in DPO period, and I will opt for walking or extremely cooler running during the days ( not) leading to AF...

Chicken: I am through with flogging myself and Yey! I am already in CD5 and will be BD this weekend and early next week, since my O day usually falls between CD 11 or 12. That's what I like about the pre O period, it seems to fly and before you know it, it's O time.:smiliedance:.

Thank you all :hugs:
