I have just passed the 20 week mark, and am getting so sick of feeling ill.
I am keeping all my food down now, but every morning without fail, i am bringing up stomach acid. The burning of my throat that goes with this is becoming quite trying.
Any advice would be helpful!!!

Hi,
When you wake, make sure you have some plain crackers beside the bed. Before you even get out of bed, eat some. Then lay there for another couple of mins before getting up. Hope this helps!:)

hello,is there some antacid tablets you could suck on,?? or some medication you could take before you go to bed? Im sure there must be something at a chemist that would be safe to take while pregnant. I found quickeze worked fine to relieve the heart burn. Even just some cool water before you rise might give some relief. sorry, hope it stops soon, Marie.

i have an antenatel appt with my gp today, so will certainly be asking the best option. I really struggle eating dry crackers or toast at the any time of the day let alone first thing.
I'm sorry to say this but mine never went away :( I had reflux right up until a few weeks after the birth. I've mostly forgotten about it now though :)
And it's worth every bit of it!

Don't know if this works myself but some women I know swear by having fruit tingles first thing in the morning

My GP quietly laughed at me when i queried this.
He said i can try a little gaviscon.
I guess all these not so nice things are a small price to pay for the bundle we get at the end.

lol I imagine your doctor would have laughed.
I had horrendous morning sickness too.
I'd get up in the morning and made several trips to the loo to vomit.
Then on the 15 minute drive to work I would have to pull over several times, run out of the car and vomit. I scared some poor morning walkers and bike riders.
Then at work I just happened to have the seat that was the farthest away from the ladies room. And kept having to run out and vomit.
And having anything to eat was a nightmare. The sight of most foods made me hurl.
If I accompanied friends out to the mall to grab something I would have to wait outside.
And it was the smell of vegetables cooking that was the worst.
One guy at work thought it was hilarious that if he even described a vegetable I would have to go running.
The only thing I could eat was cheese twisties, everyone thought it was an excuse to eat junk.
Thank god it ended at the 20 week mark.
And then several people told me about the fruit tingles.
My little sister had morning sickness all the way through her pregnancy though.
