Hi all

I'm hoping to visit NZ in a couple of weeks to see my new neice but I'm a little concerned..

When I was in NZ before I had a student loan repayment scheme in place but when I returned to Australia I defaulted on it.. :o

I know you can be stopped at the airport for unpaid fines but does anyone know if they stop you for defaulting on your student loan??
It would be so incredibly sucky if they stopped me from returning to Oz...

I use to always worry about this ......... my student loan is shocking & since I moved to Aust 10yrs ago, I haven't paid anything on it:o

Apparently NZ govenment are wanting to go down the same path with student loans as they have done so with fines. After speaking with Winz/Inland Revenue, it is 'appreciated' if payments are set up & if you return to NZ for holiday, you cannot be stopped/held back but in 5yrs time they're hoping this will change.
