Things that go bump in the night

My little (almost) 11 month old has started waking at night when her head hits the railings at the top of the cot. I don't want to use a bumper - is there another solution?

We use a portacot. It's soft all round to protect lil heads.

Does she sleep in a sleeping bag? My 10mth old wears one and even though he can still move around, it does restrict his movement.

She is in a sleeping bag - it kept her in one spot for a while, until she worked out how to move again.

i sleep my son in a grobag (sleeping bag) no sheets or cover over the top. it works great as he dos not move much at all, only spins. i also have cot bumpers all way round.
