is best to introduce first? yolk or white or does it not matter??
DS is 8 months & i wanna try a bit off scrambled egg to see if he eats that (as per suggested by his paed) as he is very fussy & only eats yoghurt & pureed apple
so whats best??
cheers

try the yolks first, boil the egg then separate. I think there's something in the whites that is more likely cause allergic reactions.

Mr girl really likes eggs in omelets and pancakes and its a good way to hide vegies.

yep yolk first, well cooked. like zalia said i boiled then separated and mashed. then when i introduced whites i boiled and mashed in a quarter of the white, then over a few days added more whites till i was using the whole egg... omlettes are great too!

I've heard yolk first too.

I'm glad you posted this. My DS is the same. Yogurt and fruit. Let me know if it works!

My bub's nurse told me about egg only last week. She said to give the yolk.

Cook it well and to start with only give a teaspoon of it mixed in with other food. Good to do this by twelve months before 1 year vaccinations as one has an egg base.

Smashlee - my DS is allergic to egg white (So yes I agree with pps - start with yolk). I make banana fritters all the time:

Mash 1 ripe banana
Add some SR flour (a good shake...say between 1/2 to 1 cup - I use wholemeal but plain is fine)
Add a bit of brown sugar - say 1 tbsp
Make a well in the centre, pour in some milk (I use rice milk as dairy allergy too - soy or cows milk works fine). Say about 1/2 cup milk. You don't want it too runny. Mix well, we add sultanas in at the end too.
Drop dessertspoonfuls into frypan on low heat. I find you don't always see the bubbles coming through the top like you do with normal pncakes or pikelets as they are a bit more dense, so I flip them when I see enough bubbles around the edge and it looks kind of set. It's all trial and error. Both my kids think they are a real treat!

:iagree: Our Dr suggested trying the yolk first, then the white and then together. Miss K LOVES eggs!

dont give up! They say it can take 10 tastes for a bub to like a food, so keep persisting!! Noah was funny about it at first but he is slowly growing to like it more. I make scrambled eggs and add a bit of spring onion or chives for flavour. Or omlettes with a bit of onion, tomato, capsicum, cheese etc Just give him a little bit each day, even just one mouthful till you know he can tolerate both the eggs and yolk, then you can start experimenting with adding things.
