I am still sending pressies back home for relatives, only b'day's...Now i go to the trouble of finding something nice and send it back, now i have decided to give it a miss as all i get back for us is 10 pound note stuffed in a card Thats like me sending my family Aussie dollars, i just would not do it, it offends me that they cannot even be bothered to go to the bank and change money!!Sorry for the rant

I do the Amazon thing too, but I think my family are getting a bit bored of books, CD's and DVDs, adn I had a bit of a bad experience with them this Christmas when they didn't send the stuff and finally 3 months later they told me the item was unavailable. I was a bit p****d off.

Tesco online are a good 'un if you want to send pressies too. They're great for Easter Eggs as well. I also get online gift vouchers from places like John Lewis, Debenhams etc, and they post them direct to the recipient.

But I totally agree about the 10pound note. My Dad's great at sending me cheques in my maiden name and in pounds. Costs about 10bucks to have it lodged in my account:mad: I have to send it back to my Mum in the UK who puts it in a UK account that I still keep in my maiden name. I've given up explaining to my Dad

Hi

I'm new to the UK thread but thought I'd put in my 2 pence worth.

It depends. I only send presents for Mum, Dad, brother, sister, my nephew and a couple of close friends or else ask one to get something particular for the other and send a UK cheque as I still have an account there.

Just sorting out the seamail package for Christmas now! As I'm having bubba in 7 weeks, thought I would get it all out of the way - so I sort of send something personal and then have brother act as Santa and order lots of stuff to be delivered to his house for him to wrap and distribute.

M&D usually pay for something to be done at the house - last year it was for the chairs to be recovered, my sister does the same as me and my brother just put a load of money in my UK account which I've transferred over here and I get to do the shopping :smiliedance: for me and the kids.
