Me and DS LOVE side nursing. As soon as he sees a boob, he flips himself over and opens his mouth!

We never got the football hold - I would have liked to of learn!

For the first 4 months all I could do was the football hold! Nowdays when Ozzy feeds he likes to sit up on my lap legs straddled either side of my legs! (it looks hilarious!:p

I prefer the football hold but for the last 24 hours ive just been nursing in the normal position for the first time ever and its not going to badly!

DD and I have used most positions for breastfeeding and did favour the football hold for those first few months. Since she's become active and a crawler, she's like Oscar, loves to sit on my lap, legs straddling me and she will feed that way, sometimes she even switches from one breast to the other, which she has just started lately (which is okay when we're at home, but we use the conventional position when we're out).

Of a day its regular old cradle, unless i'm on the floor & MJ pulls my shirt up, my bra down & sits on my lap & has a drink :laughing:

Of a night she i'm too lazy to get up so feed her laying down, that way neither of us has to wake.

The football position didn't work for us either. DD and I are for the most part feeding in the bubba on side position - although we have been practicing lying down, especially when mummy is super sleepy!! ;)

With DD we could only do the football hold, but with DS we're using the cradle hold and it works really well. We have tried it laying down, but can't seem to get it right - it hurts me, and if I move so it doesn't hurt me then it's suffocating him :o are my boozies too big? I've used the football hold with him a few times, when my nipples were cracked.

Sounds like Summer!! We always did the football hold but now its just the legs around me style lol does look quite funny!

Definately love laying down on my side with bubba laying facing me. This is our usual night position. In the day, it's always laying acroos my forearm with one hand around my side and the other hand-it's usually pinching my boobie!:D

DS has just started doing this in the past couple of days... it is so funny. Sometimes he even comes off and pinches it and looks really closely at it. hahah

Used the footy hold for the first couple of months combined with the cradle just so her chin was facing different ways so I wouldn't get blocked. Now it's just the plain lay across my lap with her head resting on my forearm. She thens kneads the boob with both hands and sometimes squeezes like she is trying to get extra squirts in.
Do like lying down together facing one another (great when tired) but it's much easier now as didn't have much sucess when she was smaller as just couldn't get the hang of it, now there is no stopping her.

MJ does the same thing, but she tickles my side. Or she grabs my boob with 2 hands, looks lovingly at it, then kisses it :laughing:

I doubt they are too big, mine are HUGE :eek: I've found it more compfy for me to be more on my back than my side, seems to line it up more :yes:

I used to love lying down on my side and cuddling up to DD for a breastfeed. I miss it! :p

Our fave is lying down as well. This is how we feed at night simply because I am too lazy to sit up! I try to get one in lying down during the day when Coop is asleep, bit hard when he is awake as he keeps playing "horsey":eek:

Our fave position is the Cradle this is what i use mostly except for when im full i use the football hold helps bub get a better grip because the areola isnt as stretchy.I have tried lying down we can do it i just dont feel comfortable doing it.

The football hold was the only way I could get DD to attach properly in the beginning, but now that she's bigger I craddle her when we're out at the shops etc. We have also perfected lying down, we both enjoy that one the most :thumbsup: It took a few goes to get it right, but it was soooooooooooo worth the effort!

Thats how DD drinks aswell.... though she likes to tickle my side too!:laughing:
