View Full Version : Pro-circ into anti-circ test
Are you guys disappointed or annoyed at how there can be no such thing as a pro-circ thread. I'm sure the moderators are aware of who the regular anti-circ members are. Is there a reason why obvious anti-circ posts are permitted in the pro-circ area?
How long will it be until this thread gets hijacked by anti-circ'ers that can't help but put their 2 cents into everything?
Who do you think will be the first anti-circ member to post in this thread?
So far so good. But I guess no-one has said anything yet.
This was from another thread that got bombarded with anti-circ posts within the first hour.
I know of several people in my circle of family and friends who have had either issues themselves or sons with issues which ultimately resulted in circumcision to solve.
The one that really hit home for me was a family friend who had two boys (uncircumcised). Their eldest at the time was 8, the other 5. The 8 year old began having recurring infections that was causing him great pain. Both parents did the best they could to keep it clean to prevent the infections coming back, but it just kept happening. He even had a little container of salt water that he took with him to school so that he could clean it throughout the day.
It eventually got too much for him (the 8yo), and he asked his parents if he could get it fixed by getting circumcised. He did.
Both his parents (especially his dad) were heartbroken at having to watch their boy go through this recurring pain and embarrassment. They then regretted not doing it while he was a baby. They also had thoughts of doing their other son at the same time - but decided to 'roll the dice' and hope that he'd escape the same problems.
Apparently 3180 adult males got circumcised in 2006-2007.
Any one else have similar experiences/stories of foreskin related problems?

I have heard many stories similar to yours, but the one that sticks out in my mind was a 70yr old in our family who had to be done due to similar problems, had been battling infections for as long as he could remember and finally got circ'd and has had no more problems since, i really feel for him for all the years of troubles he went through.
had been battling infections for as long as he could remember
That's nasty. 70years. Poor bloke.

That's the aim. This should be hopefully be a thread for pro-circs only now. So people should be able to post their own personal stories without being questioned or harassed.
I was just having a look at costs involved with circumcision.
I stumbled across a list of circumcisers,http://www.circinfo.net/pdfs/LOC-ANZ0807-2.pdf
and noticed that one of them was charging $4400 for an adult circumcision.
Does anyone know what an average cost of an adult circumcision costs? This figure seems awfully large when compared to a newborn. I imagine the cost of this may deter many adults in making that decision later in life?

Oh pick me pick me!
Ok i don't usually come into the pro circ section but just wanted to share possible reasons.
I tried to get an anti vaccination section going and it was an option so i started a anti/delay/non vaxxer thread for non vaxxers only hoping to have an area to chat about non vaxxing without people coming in and bagging us and debating everything.
I even had a mod offer to let her know if anyone is messing around in there. Anyway it didn't last long before people were coming in and debating everything and after i complained i was told that as long as it wasn't offensive and they were just debating the facts then it was ok.
So anyway the thread didn't last long because it was pointless when people were coming in all the time and debating everything.
So im guessing that is why it happens in here also. You will find it also happens in the other sections like single mothers and breastfeeding ect.
As long as no one is offensive then its free for all to say what they want in any of the sections.
But personally if i was in a section and people were giving out facts and they were incorrect or aren't fully correct i would want to know about it, as frustrating as it is.
I regret not getting my son circ'd.
We have all agreed the next infection will be the last.
I'm sorry to hear that my_lot.
It sounds like you've had some issues. Hope your boy is ok from here.
Out of interest. Was the reason you didn't because it was never mentioned? Or was it a conscious decision not to?

I agree with you that if not offensive, everyone should be welcome. Now the definition of 'non offensive' (not meaning you at all in any way) is debatable because some people make their opponents feel very stupid, often for no reason... and this happens in every controversial topic, I agree also.

He was very premature. To give you an idea of tiny, he was1880grams when we left hospital. I was apprehensive because of his size, premmy status, medical issues ect. but the other issue was the forskin was not fused. We had many a doctor check for/treat hip problems and note his forskin was retracted/able (no he didnt have a DR retract it, this was by sight) its not my imagination, like has been suggested here. As you can imagine we had many a doctor look for urinary issues too.
We spoke at length about the circ we had wanted and had a referal for and in the end we/I decided against it.
People are lead to believe all boys are fused and retract some time after 5, this is just not true. The other thing thrown around BH is that an infection is a simple UTI and so minor. Infections are not just urinary infections! My son hasnt had one urinary tract infection - and yes has a wee test for that each time he has an infection.

Why dont you set up a pro circ group.
That way only people you invite can join and you wont get the anti circs jump all over your thread.

There actually already is a thread (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=43422) going, that has been going successfully for quite some time now in the pro circ section, that is for pro circ posters only.
And as for the pro/anti circ sections, they are open to all members to post in as long as the rules are adhered to...
Pro-Circumcision For those wanting to ask questions about the procedure, medical practitioners, after-effects etc. Any attempts by viewers to tell viewers why they shouldn't circumcise will be removed.
