Hi All,
Well we have just arrived back from Newcastle after being there for two weeks checking out the different options available to us. We have decided to go with the NPH as it is convenient for us, however the parking is a nightmare.
We contacted the NPH requesting if we could have a tour of the facilities and found out that they run orientation tours on the first and third Saturdays of each month. We just missed out on the first one and would not be there for the second one in July but a lovely person by the name of Patricia told us that if we came in on Thursday and asked for her she would give us a tour. Patricia is a wonderful person and gave us an excellent tour around the birthing suites and normal rooms. She showed us the cafe that was available for guests etc.
Anyway we were most impressed with what we saw and it was much quieter than the Flinders Private Hospital in Adelaide that my wife had our first child in.
So that is our thoughts on the NPH, hopefully we will have a good experience there only time will tell. My wife is having a CS so we should know in the next month when this is to be scheduled and we can then start making arrangements for our leave etc.
