How do you choose?!

We have a list of names for a baby girl :)

Gwenivere
Ocea
Morgana (MORG-AH-NA)
Ruby

What do you like best?

How would you pronounce Ocea?

I don't mind the first choice, but the spelling looks rather odd to me. I think it's "Guinevere" tradtionally, which looks a lot better IMO.

I like Ruby too.

Not a fan of Morgana. I dunno why, but it makes me think of a haggard old witch. lol.

But I think we're having a boy (we're not finding out), and we don't like any names - lol...

Ocea is pronounced like Ocean, but without the 'N' :)

I like Ocea, it is interesting in a nice way. I agree on the spelling of the first name, it looks strange. Ruby is my pick of the bunch though!!!

I like Ruby. I know a baby and an adult with that name, and it suits them both.

I take it you're an Arthur mythology fan?? Me too! :D

For that reason I wouldn't use Morgana - she wasn't very nice. But I love Guinevere (which is how it is originally spelled). You could also have Gwendolyne, which isn't strictly from Arthurian legend but lovely nonetheless. It's Welsh. Although, much of the land around Wales has Arthurian connotations - there is an outcropping on a mountain in Wales named `Carn mark Arthur', which means `Arthur's seat' and there is a lot of Arthurian mythology set in Wales, as legend has it that his unknown son, Bran, was taken there by time travel by Guinevere before Arthur was vanquished.

I don't like Ocea much - it sounds like a bit of a mistake.

Ruby is our dog's name. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Ruby is sweet.

I went to school with a girl called Ocea but it was spelt Oscha.
She was beautiful and a wildy free spirit.

I think it's really helpful to get others feelings/input on names - it can other bring out ideas you may not have thought of.

I find Morgana a bit harsh sounding too. I certainly prefer the traditional spelling of Guinevere too and like it a LOT

Ruby I love, but there are lots of Ruby's around (and most of them delightful :))

Ocea reminds me of the surname O'Shea

To answer your question - we just went through lots of books till we found names we liked - though I found DD1's name in the births in the paper :p

Guinevere Ruby?

My mum's name is Gwenda (another welsh name) she's always been known as Gwen, or Gwenny when she was younger.

I love the King Arthur legends! :)

Actually, the original Welsh spelling of Guinevere was Gwenhwyfar hahahaha!

But I love Guinevere! I also love Morgana, I had a doggy called Morgana  (I am a medieval literature fan!)

I also like Ginevra - Ginny as a nickname!
