Hi all im new here,
I had a m/c:angel: on Friday (fetal death in utro at 10 weeks) and i was sent to see a dr on Friday just gone (Sep 25th) He was to perform a D&C and during the procedure he perforated my uterus and had to stop the procedure. He told me that he dosent even know if he got the baby out :banghead: . He told me i will be bleeding for 2 weeks because of this and if it dosent settle within the 2 weeks to go back to the hospital or my GP. Well i left the hospital on saturday and i have had no bleeding what so ever which cant be right:confused: ( i do have a very tight cervix which is why it got perforated in the first place as once the rod went through my cervix he was puching so hard it went through the other side of my uterus:mad:).

That is my story and i was wondering if anyone has had a perforated uterus i really would love to hear your story and if you went on to have children.

I think you need to speak to him personally. I know of cases on forums where people have been sued for slander.

I sympathise with you and I am so sorry for your loss.

I wish I could also vent on here about certain obstetricians who I know are just going to schedule women in for their birth because they are busy and get paid more for a caeserean. I never mention names though due to letigation.

Thank you for your reply.
The Dr seems to be a very compassionate Dr, while he did make this mistake he was immensely apologetic to me and i know it was an accident. I am asking a simple question that if anyone has had this before and gone on to have children and if anyone has had any troubles with the hospital before. Thank you for your concern about slander but I haven’t lied about the accounts of the accident and I haven’t slandered him personally or his medical ability and like i said i have simply asked a question.:)

I finaly got to speek with the dr today and its all sorted. Im as healthy as i ever was and the not bleeding thing is a good thing. It was very minimal perforation and he told me it would be all healed by now which is great. He said i can still have kids but to wait about 3 months b4 TTC again. So all in all everything turned out great it just took a while for me to get my answers.

And as it turns out this happens to about 10% of D&C's but most women dont get told about it when it happens. I was lucky that the Dr was honest with me by telling me what had happened. When many dr's dont tell there patients. I just think there should be a follow up appointment made with the dr that did it so that everyone knows for sure that everything os okay and they dont go through the stress i did.

Also if you should be a dr reading this please dont ever expect a person to remember what has been said while there in recovery after anisthetic and on pain medication. :ecomcity:

Thank you to the people who sent me private messages reguarding this.

Kind regards :)
