portacot SOS

Hello lovely Mummies,

does anyone else have a Target baby club portacot? We bought one for an up and coming trip (we leave tomorrow) and I thought I would be a good idea to have a go at assembling it before we went away... I just can't get the top bits to click into place. Does anyone else have this portacot and have any hot tips as to how the heck I get it to stay up???

hey floss!!!

I don't have that portacot but have found with most of them you have to click the rails into place before you push the bottom fully down, same in reverse when you are collapsing it.

So side rails first, then bottom

have tried that.. it seems as soon as you straighten the sides out, the bottom clicks into place anyway... this effing thing is doing my head in. :hair:

Yes, we have one... There are buttons on each rail but they will only work when the bottom isn't clicked into place... pull it up first then press the buttons on each side and they fold up too... I'll be on for a bit if you're still having trouble!!

thanks girls... as it turns out I DIDN'T have the bottom bit fully disengaged (who would have thought you'd have to pull AND turn the handle!! :o). Once I got that sorted it just fell into place! :smiliedance:

yay glad you got it sorted, there is almost NOTHING more infuriating in life than getting the hang of a portacot:laughing:

Oh Kate I feel your portacot pain! I have the same portacot and tried putting it up before Anya was born. I was CERTAIN it was faulty after spending almost an hour trying to put the stupid thing up. So almost 9months preggers I trodded back to Target carrying it and told them it didn't work. Then about 5 check out chicks all tried to put it up with no success, so they called the manager out and he bloody put it up first shot!!:hair:
Now I find it easy, but I seriously could have put it under a truck to begi with
