HI ladies - just wondering if there is any lnk between sickness in early pregnancy and vomiting during labour.

Anyone who has had a bub before - were you sick in early pregnancy (or all the way through) and were you sick during labour?

I know there is probably different causes but just wondering...

Thanks

For me.... yes, I was chronically sick with morning sickness (all day sickness) in both my pregnancies and I vomited in labour also. I don't know if there's a link or anything, but in my case I had both. :detective:
Eta, I didn't vomit the whole time in labour though, just in the first two stages.

I was a little nauseous with Spawn. Threw up a bit during labor with her.

I was VERY nauseous with Newbie and threw up while having stitches.

I do think they were both related to the gas though to be honest.

I didn't have morning sickness at all so it came as a surprise when I felt like vomitting during labour. I had just had a shot of peth though so it was probably caused by that. They gave me something to counteract it and I didn't feel sick again through the rest of the labour.

I had a little bit of morning sickness and power chucked once during labour. I was told throwing up was a good sign that things are happening right by my midwife. My poor partner almost wore it down his back though. But I just made it to the sink in time.

Alot of the time when ppl vomit in labour it because of the drugs or the quick release of different hormones in a short time. So I dont think it has anything to do with whether you get MS.

DS I had no MS but vomited once in labor but it was not long after a shot of pethadine.

DD I was nauseous till 10 weeks and vomited about 6 times while pushing but again I think its cause of the Epidural.

DS2 I was quite sick till around 20 weeks and had a drug free birth and didnt vomit at all. I felt like it when pushing but didnt vomit.

I vomitted all the way through my prgnancy with Boof ( over 30 times a day ! ) & was violently ill, I vomitted for all 3 days worth of labour & the 4hrs I was pushing.

With G I was againg vomitting loads, was in hospital a few times but got to 7mths & it slowed heaps. I did vomit twice in labour during transition otherwise it was an easy joyful labour :goodvibes:

With my last pregnancy I was sick the whole pregnancy and then in once in labour I also vomitted. But I honestly think it was because of the gas. Tried it once and didnt touch it again because of this.
