I went to the Dr this morning and he is sending me off for an early scan so we can figure out my due date (im roughly 5wks) he said i should wait till the end of the week as i might see a heart beat but im am ITCHING to go and see if all is ok!! I dont know what to do..
Would you go now or wait another week?

Hi jazzy'smum.....I would leave it another week even though it is hard to wait, cause at 5 weeks the doctor is right you won't see a heartbeat and that just causes too much stress. Good luck i hope when you go there is a beautiful little heart beating away.....
i would leave it another week too, tho its hard to be patient...but if you went now and saw nothing that would make you worry and its not worth the stress, if you wait till 6.5-7wks you are mor elikely to be able to see a heartbeat flicker

I agree with the other girls I had one at I think 5 weeks 5 days and only saw a big black hole!! Then I had one the week after and saw a heart beat, they can do the u/s two ways one externally or if they cant see a heartbeat they may do one vaginally (that still didnt show anything for me)
Not sure where you are from, but in adelaide if you go to Bensons Radiology you pay for the first u/s then any there after are bulk billed so if your doctor is sympathetic they may write you out a couple for subsequent weeks so if it shows nothing you can go back the folowing week :)

I would wait another week.
I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks and they couldn't see anything which freaked me out. The sonographer did tell me that it is extremely difficult for them to see anything until you are at least 6 weeks. I went back about 10 days later and saw a little blob with a fluttering heartbeat.
I know how hard it is to wait, but i definately would. I had my ultrasound at 5 weeks, and you couldnt see anything but a sack. it was pretty dissapointing. at least at 6 weeks you can hear that precious heartbeat!
