Just wondering... For those of you that were told what your baby's gender was during a scan, was the outcome correct?

Did you have what your Ob / scan technician told you you would have or were you surprised to find your baby was the opposite sex?

Mine was right with DS.

I am pregnant now with another boy and I am sure it is right as well as I saw clear boy bits myself! :)

Mine was right, and there was no denying it based on the US pics :D

DH's brother was meant to be a girl, or so said three different sonographers, but that was some 13 years ago and i'm sure the quality has improved since then!

Our technician was a funny guy.. he gave us a 'baby-back guarantee' that our son was a boy.. and indeed he was!

We didn't find out with our first two bubs. Decided to this time and just as well! As she was asking if we wanted to know and put the scanner on, bub went CRAZY and all we saw were his boy parts jiggling across the screen up close and personal!!!

At every scan he was like that, the only decent 4D scan pic we were able to get was of his hand reaching for his scrotum .

Good luck with your scan.

We were told Spawn was a boy from our first scan right up until our last scan.

But out she came and we were like, 'oh okay then, she's beautiful'.

No idea how that happened.

I was told girl for Newbie and girl I got. :)

I find it so bizarre when I hear stories like that! Just going from the scans of my (supposed lol) ds, it seems impossible that bubs is really a female.. it's usually so obvious! How did it happen?
The tech who did my 22 week scan was an older lady with alot of experience and her words were "absolutely no doubt about it it's a boy" and I could clearly see it too.

Anyway, yes I was told a girl for dd and she is indeed a girl  and I have no doubt that this bub is a boy but will know for sure in about.. 5 weeks I think ;)

I got told a girl with my DD it was right and a boy with DS and it was also right, I got told another boy this time and i seen his boy bits so i know its right :)

I hope

when my mum had us she didnt bother asking her OB as he had a reputation for telling people they had little boys when they had girls or little girls when they had boys, he didnt like people wanting to know :)

I had more than one scan for the first and last and many, many scans for the middle two and all said the same when looking at the sexes and all were what they said they would be.

Yep, i was told Identical Girls & a Fraternal boy. We could DS hanging free and easy, nothings changed really. Lol.

We could see one of the girls & being ID its a given that they match, .1% chance that they dont. DNA say's they are ID.

I was told girl and had my beautiful DS was a little bit of a shock considering i went a little crazy with the pink.
They were right with DD we were told girl and that's what we got.

We didn't ask with DS.

Both girls we were told they were girls, and with DD1 she took the time to show us how she could tell it was a girl. With DD2 the sonographer was a bit vague so I didn't really believe her.

In both cases I refused to put any weight in what we were told because they are notorious for getting it wrong!

From what I understand, it's more common for a boy judgment to be incorrect than if they see a girl.

actually I think it's the other way around.. if they say girl it's just because they didn't see a penis.. but it could still be there, just out of view. But if they say boy it's usually pretty obvious.

We were told we were having a little girl (in the sonographer's words, he was 95% sure). But then out came little Jack  everyone was surprised to say the least. I should have trusted my gut instinct though...all the way up to the scan I was almost certain I was going to have a boy. Turns out I was right :p

My first baby i got told was a boy and it was right.
My second baby i was told at 19 weeks was a girl, the i had another u/s at 36 weeks as i had high blood pressure and was told "he looks fine" i said "he" and the u/s lady said yes thats definitley a boy .
Ive been told this time by two seperate u/s that im having a girl this time, i hope there right, but will have it confirmed at my 32 week u/s to be sure!!

We were told in 4 ultrasounds to expect a girl however a boy arrived

Incidently a family friend who is an OB says it is quite suprising the amount of people who think they see boy bits in ultrasounds but they are actually looking at the umbilical cord :p Apparently the problem is that people overestimate the size for a young foetus

We got told DD was a girl and started buying things accordingly. Thank heavens she was a girl. Otherwise, we would have had one confused boy

I was told on 3 scans (2 different scanners) that I was definetly having a girl with my first - 100% sure. I was devastated cause I wanted a boy and was sure it was a boy (actually argued it but they told me they were sure).
I bought everything pink so was really shocked when a little boy popped out - poor little man had no clothes that weren't pink.
I too should have trusted my instincts.

My second though I was told a girl and had a girl

when i had my ultrasound, they werent 100% coop was a boy but they went with that and i was hoping he was going to be a boy. so i guess they were right but it was more of a guess as his legs were closed at the time.

Yes I was told a girl the first time and that was right.

This time I've been told a boy but I trust it completely - you'd have to be BLIND not to see it, even I was like `Woah! That's gotta be a boy, doesn't it??'. :D

They said they couldn't tell as she was not positioned right until around 25 weeks, but I thought I was having a boy from the start. From around 25 weeks on they said they are fairly certain it's a boy but the little wriggler was really quick. Then when she was born I actually argued with them and told them the baby wasn't mine, I had a boy, that's not my baby but the cord hadn't been cut yet, the doctor said "This is a girl, this baby is yours, she's still attached to you how could it be a mistake?" lol I was sure of it. My cousin told me I had a girl and for some reason I believed her over the doctors and changed the name I'd picked lol. Turns out she's a tomboy anyway so I was half-right!

They said it's likely the cord was in a place that made it look like she was a boy. No 4D scans then like there are now, so I guess it's easier to tell now than it was at that time.

We were told girl and she is a lovely girl...
although every person i met said i "looked" like i was carrying a boy ..even girls at nail salon told me "a boy for sure..i have never been wrong"..people in the supermarket said deff a boy..
my girl was breech from 28 weeks so i had a few more scans then normal..each time i got them to confirm the sex..so EVERYONE was wrong ..except the scan!!!!
