have you looked at AIPC (australian institute of professional counselling) and ACAP (Australian college of psychology)? They both run counselling courses. And depending on the state you are in some tafes also do by external learning. It depends on whether or not you are looking at diploma or degree?

I am not sure what state u are in but im in melbourne and finished my studies at home. I went through Thompson Education Direct(type it in google 2 look at website and list of courses) the money was taken out of my account monthly and as soon as i sent away 1 module the next would be in the mail. Also there are online forums 2 talk to other people studying/ask teachers questions or send ur assignments via email.

Not a fan on Centage....thats their name now. Alot of their courses are not recognised in the workplace.

also look at australian counselling association website, they have a list of courses that are approved by them. Diploma's and degrees.

or there is also the PACFA website.

A friend of mine is studying the diploma of professional counselling through AIPC at the moment. It is supposed to get credit off the degree, which she is hoping to do later on.

sorry, just forgot to add this - I got an email this morning saying that the government is funding the diploma for NSW students who are currently employed. But that only helps if you are in NSW.
