Hi,
I am 11 weeks along and I have spent this last week in bed with a really bad cold/chest infection. I am only just starting to recover. I am quite worried as I have been coughing really heavily. It hurts my abdomen when I cough so I have tried to go into a ball when in bed to ease the discomfort.
One thing I am worried about is that I have read somewhere that the excess pressure (of coughing) can cause the mucus plug to start coming away (in the cervix) and/or the placenta. So I hope my little bubba is ok in there.
Can anyone give me any advice or reassurance on this? Thanks.

Hi

I had pneumonia when I was pregnant with number, as well as a SEVERE ear infection. She is now 10 years old, and although I had a little bleeding from all the coughing, the rest of the pregnancy was perfect.

All I can say is rest, have lots of showers, or buy a vapouriser to help relieve the cough. Eat cough lollies, stay upright, and have a week of watching dvd's and drinking milo.

You poor bugger :hugs:
