diy insemination

hi ladies,
just wondering if anyone has tried at home insemination with success???? how long it took? and your method/ what you did exactly? im interested as i came across a few sites talking about it. thanks

You might want to have a look in the "same sex parents" threads - many of them have done DIY inseminations at home rather than going through clinics and may be able to offer you some insight.

I have lots of knowledge and experience when it comes to articficially inseminating horses...but probably not much help with humans LOL! I guess it would be similar though - just take the semen, draw it up in a syringe and then deposit it either with a syringe directly into the vagina next to the cervix or with a sterilised insemination straw through the cervix and into the uterus. This second method requires serious hygeine procedures and sterilisation though or infection may result. I know with horses we use syringes without rubber stoppers in them too because the rubber is spermicidal.
