:detective:Can someone explain to me the difference between a CV and a resume?:detective:

After much googling I'm completedly stumped.

I've been asked by a Nanny Agency to send them my CV - which I'm sure isn't the same as a resume and if someone asks for a CV I dont want to look like a fool and send what I think is a resume instead.

Or is it just a fancy term for the same thing?

What do I include, or not include in a CV ?

Thanks in advance!

I've always thought they were the same thing..

eta- found this though

How a CV is Different from a Resume

Many job search committees for teaching, graduate school, international or research positions request a CV to get a fuller picture of your academic experiences, accomplishments and interests than a resume can provide.
A resume lists your education, experience and skills. Your CV allows you to go beyond listing your relevant experiences and accomplishments; you can also convey the substance of those experiences and accomplishments.
Unlike a resume, which is usually about one page long, CVs vary in length, from about two to five pages, depending on the applicant's relevant experiences.

it seems a CV is just a more detailed form of a resume..

I suppose that makes sense - particularly for nanny/baby sitting to give a idea of skills, personality, background, beliefs, values etc are good to know rather than straight out work history.

Anyone know what the proper formatt for it is then?

Thanks for the help. I think I've got it worked out!

I hope its alright.

I suppose its not really a skill that all people have writing resumes and CVs I hope that agencies look at them with a certain amount of understanding!
