my DS is sick. i am not sure what he has we are off to the dr's this afternoon. till then can anyone give me some tips to help?
he has a slight tempreture(sp?) and a green runny nose, a chesty sounding cough and his breathing is sounding like bronchitis breathing if that makes sense? he also has lost his voice it sounds really sore and croaky.
he still is having all his fluids but is not really into solids and is sleeping alot.
i thought it was just a cold and have been giving him demazin infant drops but they arent helping i gave him panadol before he went to sleep.and he has vicks baby balsam on his chest. is there anything else i can do?

Have you got a vapouriser? I am going to head up to the chemist today to ask them what i can give my daughter.(She is much older than your daughter though)
I don't know whether to take her to the doctor, because i don't know if there is anything they can do for her.
She has a slightly coloured runny nose and is coughing up yukky stuff. It is a worry when they are tiny isn't it?

Well you know thatI am going through the same thing. If you cannot wait until this afternoon to see the dr, call Sydney After Hours Medical Service. We've been waiting for hours, but if you're not going anywhere, and you're worried... The number is 8724 6300. They come to you, and they bulk bill and give presctiptions.

Hope this helps:hugs:

Okay... so have just realised you're not in Sydney. Sorry.

Hopefully it will help somebody else who reads this post. Why not call your local medical centre and see if there is a home service in your area?

Hi

My bubs is going thru the same thing...one thing I have found is helping her to sleep is placing two pillows under her mattress so she's not sleeping flat. Also fess saline drops in the nose to unblock her nose helps for a little while. Poor little thing is completely miserable!:( Good luck with the doctor

go to your local chemist, and try the new vicks vapouriser that plugs in the wall. with my other 2 girls the big vapouriser wasnt doing the job, this one works a breeze.

its a pink medicine called Keflor. it comes in the form of powder and the chemist has to mix it up for you. and you keep it in the fridge. he has to take 5ml 3 times a day and the info i was given on the medicine says its best to take it the same time everyday for best results. DS actually likes the taste of the medicine lmao

if you dont have a vaporiser you can also put bubs in the bathroom while you have a hot shower so they can get some steam into them that way,, either in a rocker or something to keep them still. even an oil burner with sum eucaliptus is good.
