What is considered the normal temperature range?
Normal temperature ranges by age group are:
Babies (0-2) 36.4 - 38C
Children (3-10) 36.1 - 38C
Young people/Adults (11-65) 35.9 - 37.6C
Elderly people (greater than 65) 35.8 - 37.5C
The temperature ranges listed above are based on oral measurement.
thats from http://www.jadavey.com.au/omron_faq_therm.htm
hope that helps :D
Yes it does !
she was at 38.5 - but is now down to 38 ...
does anyone know what to do with a bad cough for an infant? (9mths old)

You can try the vicks baby balasam. What about a vaporuousire? Or standing in the bathroom witht he door shut afte ra few minutes of the hot running for some steam. There isn't much you can do for coughs. But keep an eye on her, make sure her nose is very clear (saline and aspirator works great) and maybe some panadol if she seems restless.
You should be fine.
thankyou for the advice
I have been very blessed so far and up until now she hasnt been sick -

I hope she feels better soon. If you're in doubt about anything, call the hospital and ask them what to do. I always call our hospital if the kids are sick and I don't know whether or not to take them in.

I hope Roxy is okay. Give her a big :hugs: from Bj and me.
Try saline for the runny nose. Bj hates when we do it to him, but it does help to get it all out for a while.
For the cough what has been suggested about the vapouriser and steam is the best option. Our GG told us not to put the vicks baby stuff sriectly on Bj's skin just incase he reacted to it, so we put it on the front and back of his singlet.
The other thing the GP said with temps is give panadol and is the temp hasn't dropped in 30 mins or so you can offer another does. If this does nothing after another 30mins it is off to hospital.
If you want proper medical advice I know here in QLD the government has just introduced a 24 medical hotline. It is mand by nurses and they will steer in you the right direction. Up here the number I think is 1300 HEALTH. I don't know if you could try that or if NSW has a similar thing.
Take care of yourself and you beautiful little girl. Bj and I will be thinking of you both.
:hugs: and
