I try not to get too worried about how much my DD does or doesn't eat. Some days she picks and seems to eat very little, and other days she will have 2nd or 3rd helpings of something. So it's very hard to define a "portion".

My "Breast, Bottle Bowl" book suggests the following as example portions:

Bread & Cereals: 1 slice bread, 2 plain biscuits, 1/2 to 1 cup cereal, 1/2 cup cooked pasta or rice

Fruit: 1 piece (doesn't give size though:confused: ) or 125 ml fruit juice

Vegetables: 1/4 cup cooked veg, 1/2 potato, 1/2 carrot

Dairy: 200 ml milk, 200 g yogurt, 40 g cheese

Meat: 30g (1oz) meat fish or poultry, 1 egg, 1tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 baked beans.
