DD will be going to 3YO kindy next year for two 3-hour days a week and the twins will be 11 months when she starts.

For mums with twins and older siblings - do you take the twins along for drop-offs/pick-ups or do you get someone to watch the twins while you drop off at school or do you get someone else to do the school drop off? Just wondering how I'm going to manage it next year.

Thanks!

I dont have twins, but I've had a toddler and a baby along with a preschooler, and I generally took them along with me.

I don't have twins but I do have a friend with twins and a 5 and 3yr old. from the day they were born they were taken every where occonsionally she would have someones else do the school/kindy/childcare pick up/drop off but most of the time they were put in the pram or the car and would tag along. They are now 7 months old and this is still the way it is.

If you have someone who can watch the babies, then of course that's the better option, but I don't think most people would unless one of the grannies is living with you. O.K I don't have twins, but my new baby has to go to kindy and school runs. She doesn't like the car, which means she screams for most of the 7 car rides a day. It's definitely hard on all of us, but you just have to do, what you have to do.

One thing you can do is if you make friends with one or two of the other kindy mums, they may be happy to take your child in to kindy while you watch from the car. That way you won't have to get the twins out. A mum did that for me once, and that was a life saver, as one of my older kids had puked in the car and he was such a mess, I didn't want to get him out.

DD1 (4) & DS1 (2) both go to daycare 2 days per week and the twins bith come along most days. When DH is on day shift, he picks them up on his way home though - LOVE that. :D

It's a bit of a PITA, but I have one bub in a sling, the other in the unity capsule, so when i get insde I can put the capsule down and have free hands. When they get too heavy for this, and before they walk I will have to get the pram out. They usually prefer you leave the pram out the front, but another mum has 18mo twins and a 4yo, and she lives around the corner, so always has her pram. We will try and walk more now that I have the toddler seat for DS1, as it is too far for him to walk the whole way.
