Bad timing...is there a chance??

I can't believe it! DH has been told he has to go away on business for 3 days on Monday (fly out Monday, fly back Wed arvo). I've just realised AF is pretty much in sync with the moon cycle (bit freaked out, but there ya go!) so I've got a fairly good idea of when the best time to BD is (I've also bought some OPKs to help...). Of COURSE the best days (from my loose prediction) are Monday and Tuesday next week when he won't be here :crying:
In saying that, I'm wondering if we BD Mon morning before he goes, and I get a +ve result on an OPK test Mon arvo or Tues arvo, if we BD again Wed night, is that going to give us a chance of still catching that egg????? I'm so angry at his boss for making him go!! (and there is no way he can get out of it......). Someone put my mind at ease!!!

of course there is still a chance if your due to o mon/tues if you bd monday and wednesday you'll be fine sperm can survive for a few days so nothing to worry about :goodvibes:

That's similar to what's going to happen to me in Nov as well! :fingerscrossed: that I will get :bfp: for Oct!

Just wanted to give you some positive info.

Sperm last on average of 3 days inside, for someone women it's 4 days. So as long as you have DTD 3 days before you O, then your chances are pretty good.

I actually conceived DS2 3 days out from O'ing and DD1 4 days out from O'ing. So there is definately hope.

As for DTD after o'ing...that all depends on when you get that +OPK. They say you should O within 24-36hrs of getting your first +OPK. So if you get a + on monday then you may O on Tuesday night. Eggs have a life span of 12-24 hrs, so by Wed night/arvo you might also have another small chance.

Hi , if you o Monday arvo or Tuesday arvo and you bd on Monday morning you are in with a great chance like Mrs Little said spermies live inside you for about 3 days , maybe after you bd keep you bum elevated for about 15 mins after , so to keep as much in as possible

even worse....DH just found out he won't be back till thursday. i'm so angry and upset, i can't even articulate it without a heap of expletives. i know its not his fault but im really bad at being rational when i'm emotional. so sad....cant stop crying :(. didnt realise i wanted a baby so much until now. prob sounds like im overrreacting (and i prob am). no disrespect to those who are having probs conceiving - this is pretty trivial compared to that but im still sad.

There is no harm in trying. Plus you may o earlier or later than you think. Go for it.
