Baby's memory

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone knew about how much babies remember and at what ages they remember more. We were away recently for two weeks and as i watched my ds look around the house (he is 6 mths old), I was wondering whether he was thinking 'where the hell am I?' or 'ah, yes, everything is just as I left it'? Just curious.

I can't answer your question, but I've heard recently that to a young baby or toddler, 2 weeks is forever. So if you do something regularly for 2 weeks then they'll expect it (& for toddlers - be very annoyed if they suddenly can't have it!).

I know when DH goes away for more than 2 weeks then 21 month old DD is a bit shy with him when he gets back. But it only lasts a half hour maximum.
