Faint positive before AF

I know there is a similar thread about this but I am wondering of those of us who get faint positive lines before our AF is due how many were/are actually pregnant.

I did a google search and a lot of sites say that if there is any line of colour no matter how faint then it is a positive but then on some forum on some website (I think in America) a number of women said they had a faint positive but weren't pregnant.:confused:

I am probably reading way to much into this and should be patient. I am 11 days past ovulation today and my test this morning had a VERY faint positive within the said time frame. I used the First Response Early Detection which is supposed to be one of the best.

So my question is: If you got a faint positive before your AF was due, were you pregnant or not?

Hi brooke.....I have had a few faint positives but i am not sure whether i was pg or not so i can't answer your question properly. If you are 11 dpo and you do another 1 in a couple of days and it's darker then thats a great sign cause mine never got darker. Good luck....:thumbsup:

Hi Brooke - I think faint positives before AF almost always mean there was a pregnancy there. But this doesn't always mean the pregnancy will stick - and so quite often the faint positive fades away to negative and then AF comes (a chemical pregnancy).

If you have a faint positive, then I'd say congratulations. But keep checking the results in the coming days. It should get darker if its going to stick.:D

I have previously had a positive hPT but not been pregnant!!

a positive is a positive, no matter how faint. It showss that the pregnancy hormone hgc is there. So congrats!

My best friend kept getting feint positives then went for a blood test and the result came back with a Hcg level of <1, meaning she was not pregnant and hadnt been recently.
Hopefully it is only early for you and the line gets darker over the next few days.

I got a faint positive on a FRED at 11dpo and I was most definitely pregnant ;)

All 3 times I knew I was prg the 1st test i had bloods taken and it came back negative! BLOOD TESTS! NEGATIVE! I was 6 weeks pg and found out 2 weeks later that was DD#1 5 years old now! DS i tested 5 days before AF and got a faint pos tested two days later....got darker and 9 months later #2 was here and I tested 3 days before AF with this one and got a pos so ????????? Don't ask me till 9 months later hahahahaha :laughing:

I was so tempted to test again this morning but didn't want another faint line so I am waiting until tomorrow. I read that the level of pregnancy hormone in our body is supposed to double in 2-3 days so if I am pregnant it should hopefully tell me by then.:fingerscrossed:

I had a +'ve the day before AF was due which was a surprise as my first pregnancy took 4 days after it was due for a line to appear!!

I have been following this with so much interest cos it was like you were writing about me. I did a test on Sat morning and there was a faint line, I will be testing again in the morning seeing as AF was due last friday.
