Cookies......

Can anyone give me a basic recipe for cookies that i can get 18mth DS to help me with?? Ones that he can maybe cut shapes out of and things like that?

i found this in a google search :) its for short bread cookies

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup of cornstarch
* 1/2 cup of icing sugar
* 1 cup of flour
* 3/4 cups of butter

Instructions
Mix all ingredients.

Cook in a 300 F oven for 8-12 minutes. Making sure they DON'T get browned!

To top it off you can either sprinkle sprinkles on them or maybe a few cherries!

I tried that recipe yesterday and the darn things tasted horrible ... though (with the same ingredients) it was to be baked for 20-25 minutes ..... they weren't the nicest.

I too am looking for a cookie recipe to use cookie cutters with.

:wave: Hi ladies, try this one.

125g butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 egg
2 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together until lightly fluffy
Add egg, beating well
Sift flour and baking powder together and mix into creamed mixture
Roll heaped teaspoonfuls intoballs or use cookie cutters and place on oven tray
Flatten slightly with floured fork if in balls
Bake at 190 c for about 12 mins or until pale golden

Variations

Choc Biscuits
Add 2 Tsp cocoa when sifting flour

Spice Biscuits
Add 2 tsp mixed spice when sifting flour

Saltana Biscuits
Fold 1/2 cup saltanas into creamed mixture

Lemon or Orange Biscuits
Omit vanilla and add 2 tsp grated lemon or orange rind into creamed mixture
