Hi Girls:)

Newbie here, wanting to change over,
I got a couple of twinklt lily liners, the smallest one seems to ride up the back, not nice, the larger pantyliner, fits well, but is awfulling bulky in the crotch.

Can people share their favorite brand, and why?

I've only tried Happy Pads, and I'm happy :D

They aren't bulky, come in a nice range of colours, are bsorbent enough for my needs, and Sarah who makes them is lovely

Ooh, Tommo - great thread!! I haven't bought any yet but am researching them.... I don't think I can do cloth nappies but cloth pads seem like a wonderful idea to me :)

I agree seemed natural to look at these after using cloth nappies. I bought Happy Pads as well as think they are great. Really comfortable, and they come in a good range of colours and designs, not too expensive either. I bought them through the Cloth Pad Shop.

The twinkle lily were much more comfortable once I wore tham the right way up:laughing::laughing:

MamaKoala, I actually just got the lunette cup in the mail on friday, AF has not long been, so will be a few weeks before I try it out, but fingers crossed I can figure it out, lol.

Pippa, I'll go have another look.

The twinkle Lily are good, but in short supply, so need to loo for something else in the meantime :-)

ps-mamakoala - congrats are in order by the looks of it! (hugs)!!

Bumpity Bump.....

AF hasn't returned yet so I think I have time to stock up on cloth. Because I'm going on the Marina contraception and it's said to reduce flow I'm going to use cloth until I think the cup will be worth it.

So Lee did you get any other's besides Twinkle Lily. I'm going to try some of Kat's but wanted to know if there were any other's worth buying?

I had put it to the back of my mind, but do want to invest in a few more.

I think I want some with only a single snap though.

I've been perusing the cloth pad shop the last few days, I do love the velour topped ones, I'm wondering what the cotton/flannel topped ones are like?

hmm, ponder ponder ponder:D

Hi ladies.

I have Ecomoon pads (from NZ) i got two with my lunette and loved them so i bought more. I got some liners for $1.50 and some $2.00
I also bought some from Green Chikadee (they were the cheapest, are very absobant but they are also a bit bulky)
Obsidian Star has nice ones too.

I assume the pattern side of the pad is the part that is going to get messy right? I almost want to go solid mauve or brown to make sure you can't see the stains  I was also thinking of making one just to see how handy I am. The only thing is I don't know if it's worth investing in a snap press if I don't plan on using it that often. I might have to think about it a little more. I was planning on making my own nappies and a snap press would be good for that. While one of my friends I know would use cloth nappies if I made some, I can't imagine any of my friends would convert to cloth pads too.
Decisions, decisions (I have 2 metres of bamboo fleece, 2 metres of white PUL and a metre of bamboo velour)

Mamakoala, i am pretty sure there are companies that hire snap presses. I cant remember which site it is though :(

Thanks Indigo - I'll keep my eye out. And in the meantime I'll check out those pads you recommended. Maybe when my 5 week old starts settling into a daytime routine that doesn't require me to hold her most of the time I'll be able to play with my sewing maching again and see what I come up with.

mamakoala, i thought the patterned side went up too, but it's the OTHER side:laughing: and getting darker colours works well, i can see a stain on my pink one, i want them all to be black!

I ordered some from babysafari yusterday, i like the velour lined ones, so im thinking of getting some from boheminarainbow as well.

 Thanks Lee - That sounds much better. I really like my Baby Safari side snap pockets for bub so I'll check out their pad line. Was looking at the Cloth pad shop last night but right now I'm bidding on some OOAK so I'll do some more spending later (assuming I'll win them :p).

The patterned side is what touches your skin, the plain colour side touches your undies, hope that makes sense.

Ah ha!

I'm really glad to have found this thread - it's been a really useful starting point for shops/makers to google.

I'm finally getting myself on the cloth wagon, after several rather pleasant years of no periods on Implanon, then pregnancy. I've just gone and ordered some flannel (and one velour-backed cotton) pads from Bohemian Rainbow in a hurry, as I've found myself needing them less than seven weeks after birth. Not expected, as I'm BF - I'm guessing it's that I've started the mini-pill. Bleh.

Anyhow - good to know that there are so many of you on here who use cloth (or cups)... I wouldn't have a clue where to go to talk about it all if I needed to otherwise. Oh - and hey MK!
